Creating presence in areas like that show people that you're working your ass off promoting the event. That means they're more likely to come because they know the event won't be empty. Agreed though that a flyer in hand is worth 5 on a pole

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone that came out to our event, everyone seemed to have a great time and the vibe was really tight, as it always is with parties of this size! I finally met a lot of the people who I've been seeing at past events, and made some new friends! Performances by everyone were great - i don't think i can single any out because i would really just be naming EVERYONE's sets. Prophet played some sick booty tracks that had the candy kids grinding :-) EFM-7 had some sick new tracks that had people going - I know he's gonna be a big name very soon! AC Slater - great guy, great tracks. Lots of shit i've never heard before!

Past that, we're looking forward to seeing everyone in August when we return with a mega-motherfucker party, HARD AS FUCK 4 with DJ Promo from Holland!

Thanks again
Ryan

Ravermania is being held at 290 De La Montagne Sud. This venue is about 5 minutes from the Ravewars and Hard As Fuck 2 venues.

Note that mapquest and Yahoo maps cannot find the address, but it is located on the corner of Ottawa street and De La Montagne:

[ ] TO THE VENUE

The venue is a beautiful industrial loft on the fourth floor of an old warehouse. You're gonna love it people, definately a nice change from the venues you're used to in Ottawa. This is also not the venue we were originally planning when we announced the capacity so it looks like we have a bit more space than we thought. So if you were going to come but were afraid you'd be turned away at the door, don't worry so much! We'll update the infoline the second we sell out

5 minute walk south from Lucien L'Allier Metro station, we'll post maps and directions online Thursday night, it's a beautiful industrial loft with massive 20 foot ceilings that hasn't been used for almost a year!

1. So let me get this straight, you're making sweeping statements about drugs when you admit to not knowing anything about them? Lets ignore the fact that most people tend to cite drug knowledge from accredited sources and not personal bias. I don't know where you get this idea that speed is instantly addictive (it's not) or that there's no such thing as recreational drug users (there are). Maybe you live in a world of absolutes but the majority of us don't. Feel free to move to the US, you'll fit in better there.

2. That doesn't say anything, i'm sure there are people with much more impressive resumes than yours who have no idea what they're talking about when they decide to Hard Dance. If you were at the event for the music (like most of the 'speed zombies' were), maybe you'd know a bit more about who was playing and what to expect as far as styles of music. If you'd taken two seconds to check out some Phil York productions, you could have saved yourself 15 bucks and us the headache of listening to you.

3. Again, you're showing that you're too busy being up on your high horse to consider anything other than the idea that if someone enjoys 150+ BPM music they must be a drug addict. And cheap events encourage drug use? I've been to all prices of parties and if anything I'd say more expensive events like Swirl attract drug fiends - or at least people who care less for the music than they do for getting high with 10,000 other people.

Events like Energyze 2 are for a small group of people who love hard dance - it was advertised that way and anyone who took two seconds to learn anything about any of the djs or even just the styles of music listed on the flyer would know what to expect. I won't get into an argument about drug use in the rave scene because it's useless - but suffice to say your vision of rave zombies all ending up dead or in rehab is bunk and doesn't exist.

oh my freaking jesus are you ignorant.

1) You have no idea what you're talking about in regards to drugs

2) You have no idea what you're talking about in regards to music

3) Your logic about catering to people who don't go to parties has to be the most retarded thing I've ever heard in my life.

Coolness is related to how much you post on [ Rave.ca ] Stupid.

How about this - you get one coolness point for posting in event listing threads, 2 for music discussion, 5 for event reviews. You get 2 points for every message you send and 1 for every message you receive. 10 points for a new review item, 5 for a review of an existing item. 10 points per club or other event you attend, 20 for every rave you attend. 50 for every event you add.

Base the points on overall site and scene participation.

I just don't think it's appropriate to be bringing another event up over and over in this thread, especially one that's happening the same night. We've already gone over the fact that both events are gonna be slammin, but this thread is supposed to be for people who wanna read about Ravermania, not hear about John B. I'm sure no disrespect was meant, but repeatedly pushing your event in our forum is awkward and I'd appreciate you didn't do it any more. I can only imagine the comments we'd get if we were in the John B thread talking about Ravermania :-O

Anyways G you know we're tight and I got much love for you and your thing - I'm hoping your event will be the beginning of many more large caliber names in D&B coming to montreal in the future. We can't make it out to John B but I'll be at your other events along with my crew and we'll drink beers to the success of both our nights.

Past that point, we're workin on building our own thing, bringing some serious freeform talent in AC Slater. Those who haven't heard his stuff, check this out:

A mix of his from the beginning of 2005, we'll be giving out a ton of these CDs at Energyze, so keep an eye out:

And samples of his production, sick sick shit that's been topping the lists of DJs all over the world:

AC Slater and Sunrize - Shout Out

AC Slater - Rave Music

AC Slater - 27 Hits (featured on the Hardcore Heaven Compilation)

AC Slater - Overdose (featured on the Bonkers 13 Compilation)

AC Slater and Sunrize - Total Chaos

AC Slater is already a top name the US Hard Dance scene, and he's inches away from blowing up around the world, being up there with the likes of Sharkey and Storm and Kevin Energy. Don't miss this chance to party it right with 200 other nutters in an awesome fresh venue.
