This Weeks Victim: DJ Rue!
Currently recovering from the discovery that her dj name means 'STREET' in french, DJ Rue was lured here from Chicago with the promise of becoming a center-stage stripper. Once she realized that meant removing her clothes in front of strangers, she quickly changed her mind and fell back on her DJing skills....as we all do, I've seen it a thousand times. Basically Rue kicks ass and we love her simply for being the mack daddy she is.

Why do my feet keep sticking to the floor?

Not a bad record in sight!

[DRUM & BASS]

Ed Rush & Optical - Kerbcrawler (Baron RMX)/Compound (Gridlok RMX) on Virus.
Part one of what will surely be a very high profile remix series. Baron manages to keep the original flavour of 'Kerbcrawler' and stepping it up a notch with punchy-as-fuck drums and what seems like a earth shattering bassline. Flip for Gridlok's complete reconstruction of the classic 'Compound'. MONSTER! Stay tuned for vol.2 featuring an Ed Rush & Optical remix of 'Gasmask' and a Pendulum remix of 'Bacteria'.

Dillinja - In The Grind/Acid Track (Lemon D) on Valve.
Next up from the Valve camp comes more Dillinja thumpers. The Lemon D remix takes the classic Pain Records single and updates it very nicely. Get ready for the 3rd single hailing the coming of Dillinja's LP, featuring Fresh & Adam F's remix of 'Thugged Out Bitch'.

Various - The Future Sound Of Cambridge on Hospital.
How is it that everybody likes this stuff, are they that good? The answer is yes, they are. Nu:Tone and his brother Logistics can simply do no wrong, add the Commix trio to the mix and you've got something sweeter than yoohoo.

Break & Hydro - Breathless/Deliverance on DNAudio.
This is the sleeper hit of the week. Immaculate prodcution skills from the man called Break, this record is deep, techy, and funky as fuck. Wicked synths add such a nice vibe to this record i simply can't describe it, you have to come over here man, seriously dude, come over here, and ask me to play it for you.

Cause 4 Concern - Sky Harbous/Tracker on BC Presents.
Highly anticipated material from C4C and you know with credentials like their's it's just got to be sick. The Bad Company boys snatch up the double a-sided peice of musical gold for their label's sophmore release.

Drumsound & Bassline Smith - Reverence/Nightmares on TOV.

Crystal Clear - Lets get started/Original Ridem on Reformed.
PROMO.

And why do I still have copis of the Concord Dawn LP in stock?!!?!?!

[BREAKS]

The Breakfastas - Spit It Out/Hold Up on Cyberfunk.

Evil Nine - Restless feat. Toastie Taylor on Marine Parade.
Features the original and a remix from Dylan Rhymes.

DJ Hal feat. Joe B - Biggest Sound/Smithmonger RMX on 10 Kilo.

Sarah McLachlan - World On Fire (Junkie XL RMX)/Stupid (Hyper RMX) on BMG.

Orbital - One Perfect Sunrise (Stereo-8 RMX)/Original Mix on Loopz.

Prodigy - Girls/Memphis Bells on XL.
Tune of the Week!!!!!

J-Kwon - Tipsy (Breakbeat Mix) on White.

put THIS to some use...

[DRUM & BASS]

Concord Dawn - Uprising LP on Uprising.
Finally! After what seems like forever, the album is here. Don't freak out but here are the tunes: Get Ready feat. Scribe, Ninja, Let It Go AND Horror Show.

Counterstrike - Candy Flip (Monkey & Large RMX)/Dimention Intrusion on Invader.
The original version of Candy Flip is notoriously badass, with it's Samuel Jackson sampling vocal from Formula 51, the tune was intense. Monkey & Large take it down a notch turning it into something a little funkier....but the real secret is on the flipside. 'Dimention Intrusion' will rip through you like Freddy Kruger....trademark drum kits run rampant along some very nasty basslines, stricly for the foufs massive.

Muffler - Ominous/Wreck on Disturbed.
Third release for this young label, and these guys are making all the right moves. After a stunning debut with DJ Brain & Feenix.z's 'Tear Red', the Disturbed boys followed up with the sublime 'Illusion of Time' from Future Prophecies. What next? Man of the moment Muffler drops it like it's hot on BOTH sides of this record, pulsating basslines and rolling drums, along with some sweet synths prove quite impressive.

Contour - Come Tomorrow/Laroque - Boomerang on Jerona Fruits.
The masterming behind 'Goldfinger' comes correct on the strangely named Jerona Fruits label. Very smooth tunes here, but quality production can't be denied. 'Boomerang' shines above the rest.

Crystal Clear - Let's Get Started/Original Ridem on Reformed.
Formation sub-label Reformed gives us some new talent with Crystal Clear, very much in that Formation sound. Heavy ass amens riding along your typical new-school-jump-up bassline.

Potential Bad Boy - Play It Kick It EP on Ganja.
PBB's return to the d&b scene has forced me to constantly restock this record, grab it while you still can.

[RAGGA JUNGLE ALERT!!!]

DJ Rap VS Da Boss - I'm So on Labello Blanco.
Classic DJ Rap at her finest..."I'm so in love with you...", and you know what comes next, the birth of hardstep baby! Limited Edition One-Sided repress.

Shy Fx - Fragile Planet on Marsh Farm.
Classic smooth jungle with some very sweet vocals. The Marsh Farm Collective bring back this jungle anthem, The Jungle Bird Song, featuring Phoebe One and The Concrete Junglist. Grab this funky gem if your a true ragga head.

Rebel MC - Calling (Original Dubplate)/Jungle Flow on Congo Natty.
Do I honestly have to tell you about this tune? Calling is the SHIT. Definetly been a secret weapon in Krinjah's box for some time, now available to you! DAMN!

[BREAKS]
Freestylers - Push Up/Slammer on White.
This is NOT the same record we just had in. While it does feature the original mix of 'Push Up', the flip of this one has the original mix of 'Slammer' instead of the Clipz remix on the proper release. Limited whites only...get 'em while you can.

JDS - Nine Ways (Darude VS JS16 RMX)/(Plump DJ's RMX) on FFRR.

DJ Naked - Got It?/Friskies Choice Mix on Soul.

Bronx Dogs - Tribute To Jazzy Jay/DJ Harvey RMX on Bronx Dogs.

peace!

This first volume contains a D&B remix on the flip!

Freestylers - Push Up (Plump DJ's RMX)/(DJ Bomba & J Paolo RMX) on Against The Grain.

The Apollo Kids - King Of The Beats/The Drumz Remix on FAT!

Nubreed & Luke Chable - One Day on Mob.
Features the Original, Instrumental & Poxymusic's Another Day Mix.

Stabilizer - Bounce feat. MC Chickaboo on Plastic Raygun.
Features Stabilizer's Breaks Mix, DJ Dazee RMX & Stabilizer's Breaks Dub.

Everybody's gonna get dirty this week, there's simply no avoiding it. I haven't seen this many good records in one place since.....since i looked in my record bag ;)

[DRUM & BASS]

D-Bridge & Vegas - True Romance/Bellini on Metalheadz Platinum.
Don't you hate it when you make a tune so hot and the godfather of d&b starts up a new label just to put it out? Just because you're so freakin' massive and the tune is gonna sell thousands of copies on the first pressing and everybody's screaming for it, and it's getting rinsed by all the top guys, and your making mad cashola....I mean jeeze. And then you gotta be like "Goldie, seriously man, chill, I'm just in it for the music!!!!"

DJ Craze & Juju - Hustling EP on Cartel.
After 2 strong singles, the Columbian connection returns with their heaviest effort to date. This double-pack is just the beginning for these cool cats. All 4 tracks rip it up in a very heavy way, with top production skills from Juju giving every one a nice clean edge. Features: Machines, Montana's War, Watched & Too Far.

Future Prophecies - Warlords Rising (Chapter 2) on Subtitles.
If you slept on the last single then you're already kicking yourself, cuz it ain't exactly "easy-to-find" right now. So here's your advance warning: buy this record! If you hadn't noticed yet, half the tunes you've been rocking out to lately have been produced by this Dutch duo, and they are on a roll. Get ready for pure funk: Dark Matter, Warlords Rising, Jack The Groove & September. By the way, 'September' is the new ANTHEM so get your damn hands up.

Wickaman & J Majik - Swallow Ya Soul/Zombie on Infrared.
While most of the stuff coming from the Infrared camp has been a little monotonous lately, I can safely say that this record is a winner. Doing the shuffle-beat thing is not easy, many have tried since the enormous 'Bodyrock', and most have failed. 'Swallow Ya Soul' finally hits the mark on this twelve and makes an equally distinct impression with it's own dark, funky groove.

John B - In:transit LP on Beta.
That's right, the album is here. Three records of controversy all packaged up with his neon hairdoo on the cover. Want to know what the fuss is all about? Pick it up and see....John B jumps around styles like nobody's business, doing it old school metalheadz style, heavy dancefloor pressure, trance-in-your-pants bizness, salsa funk, and of course, the electro. All in all, if you're a John B fan (and let's face it dude...you are) you must pick up this funked-out, freaked-up triple-pack of pure boundary pushing drum & bass.

Various - Holding Room EP on Quarantine.
Let me see, hopw will I get your attention on this one...hmmm....oh I know!
Fierce & Fresh - Innocence (Hive RMX)
Keaton & Nitrox - Users
Cause 4 Concern - Nightsiege
Break & Hydro - Dream Sequence
Yeah, I think that ought to do it.

Raw Q - Vital Soul/Zinc - Departure (D-Bridge RMX) on Bringo.
While the a-side of this record definetly brings back the funky days of Peshay, check the flip for the hotness. D-Bridge is really killin it as of late, with 'True Romance' dropping this week as well, and the next single on his own Exit Recordings waiting in the wings....hell even Zinc's gotten in on the action. It looks like Fresh wasn't the only evil genius behind Bad Company's success after all.

Adam F & J Majik - Metrosound on Kaos.
The first, the only, the legendary one. Repressed in all its original glory.

Sorry 'bout the breaks, I'll put them up tomorrow. And yes, believe it or not, there will be more tunes coming on friday!

As promised...round three is here! Get reasy to wet your pants.

[DRUM & BASS]

Fresh - Floodlight/Tomb Raider on Dogs On Acid.
With names like Grooverider and Fresh reppin' this label you know you can buy this twelve blind. The fact that it is the first release on what will be a very big label means it's an instant classic. The fact that it's been on dub for almost a year means you've been waiting for LONG time....and have to have it. You know what? I'm feeling kind of grimey........ok, i'm done. Now just try mixing it!

Optiv - Geiger/Outside World on Random.
After selling out of this record in what seemed like milliseconds, I thought that mayyyyyybe it would be a good idea to order it one more time. The brains behind Cause 4 Concern drops it like it's hot on New Zealand's Random Recordings. Not to be missed.

Technical Itch VS Kemal - The Calling VIP on Moving Shadow.
There's not much to say about a tune this big and well-reknown...how do you top an anthem? Simple...have the original producers go in the studio and tell them to do it all over again! Phenomenal intro, now with more vocals from the incomparable MC Jakes, leading you to a second drop, stripping everything down, and building it right back up again to a climactic spastic inferno of arpeggiated tech-madness. Did I miss anything?

Various - Biological Warfare [Genesis] on Outbreak.
Ok so here's how it works...this first double-pack features original works by some of the scene's biggest heavy-hitters, the second one's got remixes of Outbreak classics done by some very big talent....let me give you a better idea:
Loxy & Verse - North Star
Future Prophecies - Voice Of Loneliness
Resonant Evil - Black Zodiac
Counterstrike - Can't Let Go

Various - Biological Warfare [Rebirth] on Outbreak.
You gettin' the picture yet?
Faith In Chaos - Posession (Tech Itch RMX)
Resonant Evil - Wrench (Raiden RMX)
Dylan & B-Key - Freak It (Friction & Nu Balance RMX)
Dylan & Damage - Bass Kick (Dylan & Mason RMX)

Garon - E Nomine Padre/Ben Sage - Open Your Eyes on Magic Vinyl.
What's up with a German label signing mostly North-American talent? Wicked. Hailing straight outta London, Ontario Ben Sage rocks my socks off with a heavy yet melodic stomper, and that's just the b-side! Garon keeps his image as diverse as possible with a very dark choon for the late-night massive. Both tunes are high in quality and low in monotony.

Topcat - Original Ses (Police In Helicopter)/Tribe Of Issachar - Yes Selectah on Congo Natty.
If you don't own this record you are not a true junglist. Just ask Krinjah. Or Mayday. Or R-Cola. Or Jack Beetz. Or.......you get the idea.

Drumsound & Simon Bassline Smith - The Odyssey/Body Movin on Prototype.
That's right you read correctly, Prototype is back! After a 2 year break, Grooverider revives his label and hits us with what will surely be one of many massive bombs. The Odyssey has been on dub since Junglist Fridays were Soundclash Fridays. Definetly an 'opener' if you know what I mean.

Ok that's it! See you monday....

Nimi, I think he was reffering to the tune on the DOA Label...it's by Fresh and it's called Floodlight. We'll have that in stock tomorrow believe it or not. But for now, as promised....

[DRUM & BASS]

High Contrast - Twilight's Last Gleaming/Made It Last Night on Hospital.
Unless you've been living under a rock, no wait, even if you were living under a rock, you probably would have heard the wicked vocal in this tune blaring from Nimi's mp3 player. Both sides of this tune will have you crying tears of joy. Hell, my mom just bought 2 copies. Have you heard????.......

Total Science + Baron - Monkey See Monkey Do (Baron RMX)/Q Project - Nightmoves (Clipz RMX) on CIA Limited.
Badass bass from the CIA limited camp can only be a good thing. Very limited run of some very hot remixes on this one. 'Monkey See Monkey Do' you'll recall launched Baron's self titles imprint not too long ago, and he's returned the collaborative favour with a remix of epic proportions. Flip for Clipz' reworking of another big TS favorite.

Orion - Time Stands Still/Tee Bee Remix on Subititles.
Before the next part of the Future Prophecies album drops, Subtitles brings you some new talent. Orion has been rocking shit in The Netherlands on a more 'Intelligent D&B' tip for some time now. Featuring excellent longing vocals from Jadis, the original of this tune will smooth out anyone's set. Flip for Tee Bee's devastating twist...and you've got yourself a delishiously sinister record, with 2 tunes that suit any occasion.

Pascal - The Playaz Lounge EP on True Playaz.
I was hoping this double-pack wouldn't be one of those things with only one good track on it, like I've been used to seeing. And thank god I was not dissapointed....Ram's Moving Fusion step up to remix Pascal's biggest classic 'P-Funk' tune and work it into the biggest thing since....since the original! Mc Fats features prominently on this ep saving it from being just filler. It's been a while since we've heard from Pascal, but a welcome return.

Various - Renegade Rollers 4 on Renegade.
I was a little worried when I saw this hit my shelves, cuz the last one stunk up the joint. Call this the week of pleasant surprises. Junior Cartel dorp their best yet with 'Visionary Dreamer', but the real hit has to be 'Can't Take It' from boy wonders Basic Oprations. Is there anything they can't do? Hold Tight and Insiders round off this EP with some funky works.

Q Project - All Planned/Last Man Standing on Cosmic Web.
One half of dynamic duo Total Science, Q Project holds his own dropping his standard dass thumping jump-up madness.

Leon Switch & Kryptic Minds - Kontakt/Nine Lives on Defcom.
Think Tech Itch in a REALLY bad mood.

Round two...DONE! Check back tomorrow for more kickass vinyl.

Peace,

Corey
