| Even though this isnt going to be anything that hasnt already been mentioned. I just want to reinforce some of the posts that are on this thread.
First off, I dont find that books and movies can be compared to one another. Much like a painting being compared to dance. Each have their own reasons for being wonderful, most of them being completely different.
However, i can see the relation in how books are compared to film, due to the fact that, Yes, Books are made into movies, and vice-verca. Although, Like mentioned before, In a book, we are appreeciating the literary style and imagry that is being painted in our minds, to convey a specific story (regardless of what it is).
In film, we are appreciating the symbolism, and use of scenery,(etc.) as well as the cinematography that the director is using. Sure it is easy to argue, "I liked the Book over the Movie", but the the debate over use of Art in producing those mediums are are quite diffent.
All in all, books and movies both kick ass. |

| It's really hard to judge. I know most people are probably gonna go rant about how amazing Lord of the Rigns was, and it IS amazing. But there are lots of other movies that were based on books that were really good. Fight Club and Hellraiser come to mind for me. Both though-provoking and fairly shocking movies that are really well done, especially Hellraiser, considering the source. |
