being sedated.
staying in mtl, this city's always the same after all.

i don't understand how once i could do it.
working as a numbered employee.
not even enjoying my job at all.
thinking i'm so damn cool because i had expensive clothes that i'd buy with money i'd deserve after being bored 40hours a week.

partying and thinking i'm friends with people that actually, i really had nothing in common with apart from parties.

oh and those drugs that would give me the strong emotions i always craved for; screams, laughter or cries.
but hey, did i really need to tarnish my judgement to live intensely?
yeah it's fun to let it go, but then it's afflicting when you're trying to get your serious opinion across and end up sounding like a retard.

overall, being back in montreal makes me realize that i've come a long way.
i've largely decreased my consumption.
if humans are smart, then why would they cause their own nervous breakdown by realizing after years of routine that they aren't happy after all...?

come on, stand up.

It's sad when people don't realize until they're old that they just wasted their life working in an unfulfilling job, churning out a profit for some company. Cuz thats what society teaches: work hard and then spend your money, and that will bring you happiness. But the Mercedes-owners and mansion dwellers are just as miserable as the rest of us, probably more so, cuz they've already clawed to the top of the capitalist food chain and realized that there isn't anything there beyond a cardboard image of success.

its not so hard, but most people are afraid of not having money. cuz in this society we equate consumerism with happiness.

yeah the world wasn't built on laziness... I could probably afford to work harder myself... I think a lot of people complain about things but don't actually do anything.. I mean, living on a hippy commune is fine but it doesn't help society really

"we equate consumerism with happiness"

it's not money it's the fucken greed
it's also the failure to recognize where/what you came from and asking yourself "what makes you happy?" and what you're gonna do about it

we all have our individual needs, whatever it is inside our soul that needs to be fufilled, it's something that needs to be discovered. sometimes it isn't obvious. sometimes it's so obvious we fucken miss the point. then we dwell in this "rich sucessfull IMAGE" cause of all the presure and expectations around us cause we think alot about what people think about us on the outside.

it's so much easier to base your life by comparing it to someone elses that looks and feels happy. we look before we see and that's where we go wrong. we stop at 'looking' and forget about 'feeling'

not alot of people make an effort to discover that their true needs are and so they content their spirits with pursuing this IMAGE and sometimes blame it for all their hardships

i was alot more naive as a little kid. i'd sit in my backyard being angry that my parents were poor and hated the kids behind my house with the big pool cause i was jealous. i wanted a pool also but all my parents could tell me is that i had to be happy with what i had and that i had alot to help me pursue what i want later in my adult life. i used to be so sick of hearing this but they knew damn well what they were talking about

poor or rich, it's people that don't appreciate shit or fail to recognize struggle that piss me off cause it reminds me of how i feel a little bit inside sometimes

i trully believe that behind every struggle in every sense lies salvation. i know it can be exausting and thats when sometimes things of luxurious nature aids us get through. we all need toys. that's why people go out for a beer. we all need love.

if you really think this image is everything
get out of that hole
won't be much of a struggle cause it ain't that deep bwoy

i can only speak from my experience and i know how it sucks to have watched parents struggle to make ends meet. to me saying that money equals nothing would be a slap in the face for the lifestyle that my parents have been struggling for this whole time

they chose to come and live here in this land where money matters. they chose to come here cause things back where they came from prevented them from living

i said sometimes alot

just a manifestation of my my inside
i'm not trying to tell anyone how to live

ok maybe i am but i like to let all my thoughts come out

WAKE the fuck UP

a hippy commune is a society of it's own

it's just that i doesn't belong to the big picture and we want to hate on em with our pride of a big productive machine

a commune has it's flaws also... and it can totally be the flaws of the same nature

I think anyone who is born with a silver spoon in their mouth better do something good with their life because they got it easy.

Yeah a commune is a society of it's own but I find sometimes people are running away from this society, the corporate machine or whatever you want to call it, instead of trying to change or enlighten others and maybe make THIS society better... No use running away, it's not going to go away.

changing things takes time and effort and care and patience, just like growing food.

i agree with you there scott

getting away from "society" is escaping its pressures of conforming instead of making an effort for change

but also
we need change inside before we can worry whats outside

yeah, change, but people need to be patient enough to realize change sometimes takes a long time.... But once it gets rolling it can happen very fast.

i don't know

people that want to go off somewhere else to start over... you can't call them quitters like they're gave up trying to live

maybe their ways and beliefs are different. sometimes communes are people with a common goals and i think it's healthy that they seek on living it together

i saw alot of healthy communes and there's plenty of them flourishing a bit everywhere
