 Coolness: 686010 | My grandfather on my dad's side died the day the Challenger exploded if I remember correctly. I don't really remember him too much or too often, but I try to as often as possible. My grandmother on my dad's side is now off her rocker. She's always been a little nuts but a year and a half ago she walked out of her apartment in her bath robe and her slippers and tried to jump off an overpass. She had a lucid moment and realised how fucked up she was and that she couldn't controll it, and that she wanted it to end. Now, a year and a half later, I can't be near her for more than a minute. She's like 65lbs, in a wheelchair, can't walk 'cause she's on so much medication that they just left her in a wheelchair and her muscles have all atrophied. She doesn't remember that she has a son or a grandson and she asks when her husband is going to come and pick her up too often for me to be able to put up with it without me wanting to have a break down.
On the other hand, my grandparents on my mother's side of the family are still alive and well. I actually got a birthday card from them yesterday and I'm going to their place for christmas dinner. They're probably the only people in my whole family who have ever been there to help me no matter what. When I'd come to my mother with a problem and she'd kick me out of the house rather than help me through my issues, I'd make a phone call and even if it was 3am, my grandparents would be there to pick me up and let me stay at their place for the weeks or months I needed to get things back on track. |

but they are far far far away...like all my family....down south in the americas....ARGENTINA! I miss them all....its lonely to be soo far with no family around. |
