Weed is classified as a "depressant" because it lowers your heart rate/ blood pressure. It doesnt mean that it makes people depressed (although drug use is commonly linked to social disorders like anxiety since people use them to escape reality).

If you were depressed 5 months back then it was probably for a different reason. finding out what the source of the depression was would be a major help in you discovering yourself.
