i have a wireless network set up at home. everything works fine on my desktop.
my girlfriend has a laptop with a wireless card. she can use the internet fine at my place, but she can't get on icq or msn. anyone know why? i could probably figure it out if i was at home, but i'm not so i need some help. thanks! |

Your wireless router is probably using a firewall of some sort. Also, wireless still has fairly limited bandwidth, and the more computers on it, the less the router can output. |

Not just that : there's a possibility that if you live in an appartment block and you didn't configure the stuff properly that you are sharing your internet connection with EVERYONE on your floor that has a wireless network card.
And to think those fucking routers sell like fucking candy at Future Shop. Freking hell. |

just for the record, i'm not an idiot when it comes to computers. i simply couldn't troubleshoot as i wasn't there and i thought maybe someone else might be able to help.
anyways, the problem was (and still is) with videotron. they're fucking idiots. |
