i agree and disagree with many points on there

i don't believe that you can say that someone who wears brand names is replacing that for their personality because many people just LIKE that clothing, but the people who are only sporting brand names and JUST brand names, walking around like bilboards, i can agree with you on...

but then, you can't limit that to just one group

every sub catagory has it's own brand names

the general world has it's nike and adidas and so on

hip-hop has it's fubu and sean john and so much more

the skate world has the duffs and etnies and vans and that jazz

the electronic music's got snug and...hell i don't even know the names any more

and in each catagory, most people own some of the clothing, i know i for one own alot of different brand names, but that is only because i enjoy the clothing, vice verso, i got plenty of rags from the Village of Value which i wear just the same

style is something you make on your own, its the personality behind(underneath) the clothing that makes the person

frankly i don't even think that most brand clothing is that unique, its all a perception IMO. the fact that the a piece of clothing is branded in the first place just shows that the marketer is trying to "add value" to the product by associating it with a brand, which in turn is associated with an image.

My SNUG sweater is still one of the comfiest and best-made sweaters I've ever had. :D Sometimes paying for a company brand does mean quality, but not often. Take tommy hillfiger for example. My dad tried doing buisness with them and brought them his best fabrics and offered the lowest price he could. They asked him if he had any lower-quality stuff that was cheaper, so he showed them his lower quality stuff. They didn't like that either and said they wanted cheaper. He told them the only thing he had cheaper than those were some of the same ones, but that had gotten damaged and had flaws and were not knit together properly. He showed them some, and they said those were just fine, how much? He gave them a super cheap price (I think it was something like 1.50$/meter instead of 6$/meter) and they said that it was too expensive and that they didn't want to do buisness with him.

Rarely will I buy clothing unless it's 1: something I can't find anywhere else or 2: It's something that I get from stores on Chabanel street.
