not microbytes. for the love of god. anywhere but there. worst - service - ever. get your parts there just dont let them assemble the thing. |

well you can check out the website
something like [ www.microbytes.com ] they have some kind of price thing where you build your computer online.. pretty good if you dont want to spend to much. |

pretty good until you have to take it back and have them service it because they didnt do quality control the first time around. |

goto microbytes, buy individual parts, do not under any circumstance let them build your computer for you.
Microbytes has great prices, shitty service. So don't use their service and smoke a friend on a joint as payment for building your computer for you. Go with AMD, not Pentium. Its faster and cheaper. Asus motherboards rock. Nvidia, not AVI for video cards, since Nvidia definately has the better drivers. But I wouldn't use the FX card yet. 120gb HD for maximum space downloading shit. Since you don't really need a pro sound system or anything, an SB Live! 5.1 plus 5.1 surround sound speakers will suit your needs. Get a nice labtech soft touch keyboard. They are a bit more expensive but so much more comfortable. If you wnat to get the most out of your highspeed, get a LinkSys ethernet adapter, not the crappy DLink one Videotron and Sympatico send out for free. And again, never ever let microbytes staff assemble your computer. Doing that is technological suicide. |

thing is i know its prolly worse like that but i want it assembled like in one shot...
cos i want it right away |

dont get a AMD....
i dont trust AMD last one overheated and melted the heatsink fan right off and it felt on my graphic card... or maybe i got a cheap battery thats y it die anyway i got my new pc at 1529 sherbrooke street west. they have good package deal. I think its called MC computer & electronic, near Concordia u dont want to go to a place that is cheap.. cuz those are "overnight" store and u will get low quality part and not all part will be COMPARTIBLE. u dont want to go to a xpensive place like laser majestic cuz they cater to business, and place like that charge way too much. for the record.. im not a geek or as my friend at IBM Software Enginnering call it, the new alpha male. hahaha =p |

i know i shouldnt do it right away type thing, but how do u get a deal, like monthly thing if u buy it in pieces?
besides i want it right away all i really need it for is the net and to listen to music. |

you dont get a service warranty for parts and labor on the system if you buy it piece by piece. only a warranty on the parts themselves. which, if you cant troubleshoot, is useless. and a big pain.
try la centrale informatique, or future shop. small comp shops take a few days for assembly btw. |

i once bought 2 comps assembled by microbytes. 2 days later BOTH of them caught on fire for no apparent reason |

Microbytes sucks for assembly, but it's not that hard for someone to take one apart and put it back together. It's what I've done for friends and they worked fine.
DON'T go for an nVidia graphic card. There's a reason nVidia is losing all of it's customers. They don't support DX9 properly and their rendering chips don't preform like they say they should. |

all this is fucking chinese to me!
id ask the dudes at future shoppe but theyll totally fuck me over. im not willing to pay more than 950. |
Good [+1]Toggle ReplyLink» nothingnopenope replied on Wed Nov 5, 2003 @ 11:43pm |
future shop sucks
the cheapest way to go is to buy the parts and build it... or get someone to build it for you... Does 950$ include a monitor? I managed to build a 2.4 ghz p4 system w/ 512mb ram and a 120 gig hard disk and a radeon 9200 card and asus motherboard and it came up to about 970 with tax$ on microbyte's site... |
Good [+1]Toggle ReplyLink» wisp replied on Wed Nov 5, 2003 @ 11:44pm |
yeah it includes a monitor.
can someone help be build a computer then? cos im lost and i really need one asap. keep in mind i have to pay buy the month. |
