i totally, completely agree, to what elixireleven said
i feel like my psyche has been scoured clean all my senses have been assaulted my insides are still reeling for a while i was sitting there thinking, "so this is what your soul goes through when you die" unbelieveable. and vibert.....man, morphing, twisting....you could almost see the music in the air. i am so glad i went |

I give it a 5.5/10.
Reason being..I paid to see squarepusher. Not Luke Vibert. Lukes set was horrible. It started off really great...but after a while it felt as if I was manic depressive. One minute I was enjoying the music..the next I was begging and pleading for it to stop. His set was 2 hours. I thought I was going to go insane. Squarepusher was awesome. But he didnt play as long! I wouldve been happier if squarepusher played FIRST, that way I wouldnt have wasted my time with Luke. I also liked the venue but felt it was a little over crowded. I like to have room to dance and there was hardly any. Overall, it was alright. Couldve been better. |

Luke Vibert's set was awesome, really eclectic, playing old school rap to dnb, to breaks, to EBM and industrial. Really good choice of tracks. And Squarepusher...... my god!!!! It's was pure insanity. This guy rocks with a bass guitar!!! And the fact that he played like 1:30h make me smile a lot. The only negative point of the evening was the lack of ventilation of the venue but for the rest, everything was perfect. |

ohmygooodgod,
i did not enjoy my night, at all. well, maybe justa little, i ejoyed luke. squarepusher made me wanna die. seriously, i would much raher listen in the comfort of my own home were i can control the volume andd the track selection, it really was a mindfuck. i found myself leaving every 10 minutes because i couldn't handle it, it sounded better ouside btw. ... squarepusher is great i love the music, but i don't think that i could go to another show like that in a long time. i've been let down twice, once was 2 summers ago when the show was cancelled, and lasst night. really wish i felt differently bout this. |

the venue was overpacked, but the PA system rocked. Crystal clear sound. But that strobe light kind of uhm, tore open my head. It was very over used.
Luke Vibert had a hit & miss set with many more misses then hits. His set was kinda well, drawn out and useless, and if you looked around the crowd, you could see people starting to get fed up. People sitting down, leaning against the amps/table, and otherwise looking disgruntled. His 2 hour set seemed to be four hours. Then Squarepusher came on. Les Claypool, eat your heart out. This guy is insane. He completely ripped apart the room with his bizarro bass playing. He didn't really do too much beat wise, but nevertheless it was worth it. But all in all, the strobe light gave me a migrane, i felt like I was at a metal concert, and luke vibert should've been shot instantly. I don't think this was worth me getting sick over too. Bola should've opened for Squarepusher, not Mr. Vibert. |

yeah I am very sorry I missed this...
Alex: on strobe lights though.. they are even more annoying when you are PLAYING and you can't tell depth perception anymore! |

hmmm. i didn't go there to see somebody playing "real" instruments.. i hate that shit. come on... but as a bassist, i thought squarepusher was kinda wack. sure he was showy and playing all this shit all mad fast and crap but when you're playing an instrument with electronic metronomed beats blaring behind 'em, if you hit a note a split second too late or early it's really noticeable, made his shit sound even more like a shplunk of offbeat mayhem than it already was. strobe light: way too much. vibert: horrible mixes. interesting track selection i guess, but come on. the guy makes good music.. so does squarepusher. good to listen to in my living room... ya, where i can control the volume and lighting... but this show was pretty fucking weak...
new sat. first time i was ewver there. like a cross betweeen the old sat and playground. warehouse styles. darkness. loudness. cavernous convcrete rooms in the basement. very weird experience. i concur, it was much more enjoyable listening from outside, though you have4 to contend with crackheads pleading for alcohol cigarettes dimes and everything else in that shit-hole of abn armpit of a cracklhold of shit smack central area. |
