they get paid whatever they feel is fair.
independant designers make a lot more per job.. designers who work for companies make $__/hr salaries.. |

c cup!
i do flat rates or per hour. depends on the company/individual tho. last job was $25/hr. ... big companies are good for big bucks. if you have decent presentation skills telling them a basic site is minimum three grand can and will happen. but if you're a pussy and not persuasive at all... good luck. |

usually it's per piece, not by the hour, from 500-1000$
that's just what i've seen tho |

as someone who's been doing web design/programming/graphics/digisound for like 4 years professionally and i dont even remember for how long as an 'amateur' i can say for sure there are NO SET PRICES whatsoever. you evaluate the work, evaluate the customer, the customer's resources and their outlook on what you can do for them. the graphic designer girl in the office where i work now gets 15/hr, but she can work all relaxed and all. i've seen people get 25/hr and more but if it's that much you usually slave ass the whole day. for projects, it really depends, a logo could be anywhere from 50 to 500 or more depending on complexity, style, professionalism.. etc.
all in all, if you know your price but are also flexible, you cant go wrong. the only thing is when you go flexible, make sure the customer knows that for the cheaper price they get less (i.e. specify that the image will have less detail or whatever is relevant to the task), so that they dont go too bargaining-happy... you gonna be aight :) p.s. got a portfolio i could throw a glance over? |
