When I say hip hop, I'm being extremely general. There is quite a bit of hip hop out there that is intelligent / intelligently funny. Tricky & ICP & Beastie Boys comes to mind. Heck, Eminem even has some intelligent lyrics, and he does sing with passion, regardless of whether or not he's full of shit. But I mean, trip hop is much more involved, there is more ot listen to then just lame "yo yo, kill a niggah". |
