Stuffed Peppers

I got some ground beef in special a while back (in the freezer) and always have rice on hand and got peppers at a great deal. I thought of adding the peppers to salads or as a snack but something popped in my head: Stuffed Peppers.
I never tried them before and I'm looking up receipes online and beside the basic ingredients (peppers, ground beef & rice), there seem to be a lot of variation. If you tried a recipe before, please tell me how it was (and what it contained, I can't read your mind) and what you would have changed. there was a themed in the first paragraph: cheapness ; so I don't care much for expensive ingredients.

J'imagine que de faire cuire ta viande avec la poudre comme ds les boites de old el paso pourrait être crissement bon... Un espèce de mix à taco dans un piment avec du fromage râpé, ça doit être taste!
I'm feeling half empty right now.. |

I like a nice green pepper stuffed with red peppers, dried chili-peppers, pepper, and 2 types of mushrooms - topped with cheese, à la gratiné. mmmmmmm ....
Allow me to make the first ''stuff my pepper -- that's what she said!'' joke :p

I use the 'shrooms to replace the meat, but it would probably be good with meat & mushrooms ... at the right grocery store, most veggies are cheap, so this isn't an expensive recipe - oh and, of course add spices to your liking ;) Some sort of sauce should be added too, so it ain't too dry

I like veggies but I looove meat. btw what kind of store are you talking about?

Also, Esposito, really cheap but also very ripe, and the places tend to be fuckin' ghetto 'n' dirty, but at least most of their veggies are at really good prices ...

I do stuffed peppers all the time. Take this receipt as a basic , and add what you want. I put tomatoes on mine , with a bit of tomato sauce as well, garlic, oignons ( or leek ) etc... for the spices, it could be good with cumin , but also with italians herb, depending what you prefers. Same for the cheese on top ( even sometime instead of rice i do it with couscous, it's good too )
