Well I am selling my pair of event PS8 that I bought 1200$ @ Steve's like a year ago. They sound extremely well, and they have been designed for small studios. Also they are preamplified, thus you won't need an amp. Know that if you go for not amplified monitors, you well need to buy the proper amp to fit with.
If you are interested, email me tao-nhan@morphee.info ps: i sell them 800$ |

You should check ebay.. I got used tannoy reveals passives for 300$ canadian, but the amp I got was a hafler p1000 which cost 600$ new (with a discount).
But if you pay less than 1000$ on your monitors (whether they are active or passives + amp cost) don't be surprised, that's how much it cost for the cheaper stuff... |

okie thanx for your comments my mission is to now understand the difference between passive/active... i mean i know the concept of these two words but what does it have to do with speakers... :D
so ill get back at ya! and 800$ is kinda too much for now! if i ever realise its the only way ill pay but not before im convinced its the only way |

okie i think i got it :
Passive : does a cross over active: does a crossover but make sure theyre arent any group of frequencies coming all blended... (give a better output but should be more expensive too) is it something like that? hehe god i hate asking stuff like that |

Passive = regular speakers that require an amp.
Active = speakers that are also plugged in and have a built in amp. |

yeah what spooky said...
Generally a lot more people are buying active speakers these days... Steve's only sells active monitors... I bought passive ones because I'm a pretentious fuck and I wanted a good class A amp to go with them... I think the alesis m1's are a pair of actives that cost less than 800, but they are not the best quality. |
