Her death is just as tragic as her recent stage performances. Just like the deaths of starving third-world peoples are just as tragic as their lives. Death is always tragic. As life can often be.
Humanity has developed a sense of respect for the recently deceased, for good reason. After the dust has settled, jokes can be made. In fact, most of the time the dead would probably appreciate the humor, rather than expect people to mourn eternally. Even though I agree that it's irritating and nearly disrespectful the deaths of others when some super-star's (or any famous person) death is treated with much more importance than a 'regular' human, it is simply a symptom of our modern society - on top of which rests the fact that those famous people touched the lives of many more other humans, and therefore automatically illicit a bigger response. There is no right and wrong here, there is only a large difference in points of view, and how people view death. I wouldn't always call someone who dismisses death as a sociopath, though it could be, but I'd say they were desensitized. I am too, but I still feel emotion in the face of tragedy. Unfortunately, everyday is tragic, every death intolerable. I guess that if you're neutral towards her death, stfu. If you were a big fan, express your anguish (hell, I was really upset when Cobain died). If you're just looking to get attention by talking about a popular death on your FB status, then you're an assshole. My half-a-cent. Keep the change.
I'm feeling you up right now.. |

I just want to add that I never specified that dismissing death makes you a sociopath. Enjoying it, being glad of it... that's something entirely different. Schadenfreude taken to a, yes, sociopathic level.
I'm feeling on like donkey kong right now.. |

"Sources" say she had a doctor's appointment on the day before she died, and she seemed fine according to the doctor. Yet, symptoms of alcohol withdrawal tend to occur approximately 12 hours after last drink and to peak within 2 to 3 days. So, she would have had to be already in withdrawal at the time of her medical exam in order to die from the symptoms in the following night... I dunno, I'm just speculating
