hi guys! do you know of a good, reliable place in montreal where i could get all the different parts to make a custom PC? and get it put together for a reasonable price? I don't know much about hardware so I don't wanna get ripped off.. I'm looking for a small, friendly place but still very professionnal, and who would offer great after-sales service.
also, I got an external hard drive, it works on my other computers, but the laptop whose data I wanted to backup, detects it but I cannot acccess the drive.. I see the icon in the bottom allowing me to unplug it, but when I go in My Computer, I don't see it there. it's weird cause it's not happening on other computers... so I was wondering, is there any way to fix this OR to take the memory inside my laptop in any way to put it elsewhere? thanks :))

maybe 1000 or 1500? i prefer to spend more for something really good that's gonna last a long time, than to save a few bucks and get crap in return. but then, i'm not into hardcore gaming or anything like that. i want to be able to run a few programs in the same time, basically i'd use this computer for music, movies and net browsing... i want a big wide screen too.

Damn for 1500$ you could get a super computer... Even a 1000$ desktop goes a long way.
Intel Core i5 2500 Quad Core Processor Mother board to support that. 6 gigs RAM (3 x 2gb) triple channel... 7200 rpm black western digital drive (or get a solid state for better results) 24' monitor (or whatever you want)... 1920 x 1080 (1080p) wide screen...

Nah the new processors are coming out again soon. They will be a good 25% faster and considering there is no need to get one for 3 weeks, better to go with the i5 2500 when it comes out again... I want one also...
