| Hey wassup!
I've heard all kinds of positive feedbacks and reviews in regards to the club/rave scene in Montreal.. I was hoping I'd be able to get some suggestions to which clubs are happening this weekend and whether there are any kewl afterhours. I party in the city on weekly basis (Manhattan) and would like to find something up to par with the NYC scene. I know it's out there but need to find the right places.. so, any help??
Thanx |

| Ok so it seems you're more into the club scene than the underground scene. I guess afterhours clubs like Sona, Aria, Red Light and Stereo would be the best for you.
I believe [ www.ravemontreal.com ] would be of great help to you if you can read french. |

| let's clear things up, Clubs and Raves are not the same thing at all. and yes, the Rave scene is worth going to. it just all depends on your style of music if your going to enjoy yourself there. after all, advrage raves are 12hrs long. if you ONLY like the styles you mentioned, then the A/Hs scene is for you. But feel free to try out the rave scene as well, you wont know if your going to like it if you do not go and experience it for yourself. |

| It seems you're into the whole popular trance and house stuff (tiesto, armin van buuren, oakey, digweed, sasha, etc) so the afterhours are definitely your thing. The crowd is usually made up of an "older" crowd (20+) of clubkids, drunks, e-tards, music lovers as well as people that go there to pick up and get laid. The experience you will get at such a place is totally different from what you'd get at an underground party. You'll see nice decor, good sound, crazy lights and lots of people. The underground stuff tend to be more trashy, but the vibe is definitely different and stronger.
I recommend you try both scenes and find where your heart is. |

| Thanx for the info all. Too bad I'll be missing out on that event (8/16) since I'm heading to Montreal this Friday, (8/9)..
Any recommendations?? and what's really shocking is how cheap the tickets are.. $15!!!! we pay close to 50 maybe $60 on a regular event.. and sometimes up to $100 possibly $200 for a larger one.. How many people tend these events on average?? |

| The underground scene pulls in about 200 people an event and the commercial scene pulls in anywhere from 500 to 25,000 people...
It's really hard to say that somethig is commercial because what does commercial or underground really mean. I guess you can say it means that you don't have DJs which cost 10,000$ for a 2 hour set... |

| yeah you sound like you would enjoy the clubs/afterhour scene here more such as sona, aria, and stereo. Out of those three places from what I have heard stereo is the best. |

| Well if you like hard tech-house then Stereo is the place to be this Friday night with Big Al spining. The name of the night is Proton Sessions( ia m sure i spelled that wrong bwtf). The adress is 858 st Catherine est. Doors open at 2 am(best to go to Stereo Bar before 1 am and get the combo for the bar and Stereo...saves you money). The last couple of nights for the night has rocked!!! This is a night not to be missed, but that is just my option:)
