What can I be doing wrong... This is generator #7... They keep not being able to start... Is it cause I'm buying cheap ones... This one is a Hyundai... Maybe I need to go for the Honda or Yamaha to get something which works properly...

This sucks!!!
I'm feeling nuclear right now..

It's past the refund time... Since I returned it last September and then didn't use it till now... It is still on warranty... But I'm sure it will just be fixed and it will still be crappy...

I could buy a new one at Walmart, put this one in the box and return it... I'm sure no one would notice but that is work since I would have to do it two different days.

I video of how I am feeling...

i got a two point question

is it a pure sine or modified sinewave?

and how "harsh" are you on these. how ofthen you use them all the pedigree?

hope you dont garbage them , it might be something quite minimal but letting you think its dead.
Update » cutterhead wrote on Sun May 23, 2010 @ 1:56am
okay maybe more detail, than 2 ->

gas diesel ?

you shure its not just a maintenance issue like changing the glows and all that.

filter coged , you overload them etc.. ?

peek should never be attained . you have to keep in the zone and watch so they dont heat up , cause if they do you appliance isnt compatible (hense the sinewave - modified sinwave)

how about what you plug in it , does it have big capacitor that discharge or you let it die of gas before fueling it up , thoses two are heavy on both the diodes and the motor. anyways hope u can give me a few details id love to help

I've used it for less then 20 hours...
It's an inverter generator...

It's ALWAYS been hard to start, sometimes taking up to 30 minutes of trying.
Now it does not start.
I've changed the oil and gas...
This is my 2nd one like this and I've been through 4 other ones of model ETQ which were worse... They always break. I think it's just cheap generators are crap.

I'm getting a Honda... Hopefully it will be worth the extra money to have a key to turn the fucker on...

Hummm. Spark plug problem mayhaps. If it's been not used for a long time mayhaps you got a corroded spark plug lead.

Just sayin'. Happened to mah mom's lawnmower.
Fixed it in 5 minutes.

I'll be at the mountain, just no music... And no it was working last week... It's only been used for 20 hours. I have no idea what is wrong with it. It's just a cheap made in china thing. I do stuff outside too often in the summer to be dealing with shitty generators. I'm going to use my 4% which I get this week on a new fully name brand one with a good motor and a key to turn it on. My scooter never fails to turn on. A good generator should not either.

hyundai aint much , but you never answered , i know there is an inverter in there . it the inverter a pure sinewave or modified sinewave.

id love to see a closer look at that black tag on the side.

and yess id look for the spark , and the auxiliary battery is its an auto start. a battery if not always full will die in storage . it always has to be kept full.

if its a manual start , then your spark system , that handle+winding system , start system or hose have a problem . cog , dirty , that gizz somethign stuck in.

and it was new ? only 20h of use ? somethign like the oil you put or its flooded or something also if you tried to start it lots of time , possibly the filter is cogged too. flush everything and start again . try to service the basic parts thats serviceable , dont take the whole motor appart , just the basics. most of the time is a component failiure outside the engine.

id definitely take it appart if i where u you got nothing to loose now and youll get the experience of its assembly , just dont rush it and work so you know how to get it back together, im shure yourll find the problem just by looking at its guts.
Update » cutterhead wrote on Mon May 24, 2010 @ 12:53am
i find it weird they enclosed the lil handle on the side. im shure its something related to it . does it retract as usual , was it broken off , hard to tell since its all enclosed.

screwdriver required

I got this one... If it fails on me, I'll get the EU3000i which has the key... The people guaranteed it will work for a long time this one and the insides look different.

Actually it's more like this one...

cause im quite shure if you dont pull a crank to start it that storage will eventually kill the battery if it wasnt charged.

spark plugs needs to be clean and changed often and this is important ::

esp hi load will destroy the "alternator" or "dynamo" (anyways you want it the shit that charge and send a sine signal) will blow diodes and when even one is dead can mess up the charge load even if its enought to have worked during your last party.

that honda looks sexy , but electric starts scares me , id get one that has a manual crank , and one that looks servicable. have you look into the construction sector , esp rentals for them. *im shure you did* but thoses ppl service them all the time , you could ask about a model that could serve you in the long run by having user servicable parts.

electronics are just supposed to 'work'. If I'm supposed to know how it works enough to be able to fix it, I wouldn't be buying it, i'd build my own!

The older one looked similar...

This was a piece of shit...

I believe they miss-produce some of these things... they don't know what to do with them. Instead of throwing them out, they sell them to you. Maybe you will return it a few times and they can give you back another piece of garbage... In the end, they make money from trash....

There is no other explanation for how bad these no-name Chinese / Korean generators are...

i read a lot of stuff in my life, but this is by far the most narrow view comment i read ,even more than Friedrich Nietzsche himself could accomplish . shout out to you buddy , now go look for the definition of "user service parts" on google and try to go live in the woods, see how your ancestors got you here.

its like you said : "my car should work , nobody told me i had to pour gas in it, and i have to know if its gas, gas mix or diesel , woow thats complicated for my lineage"

user servicable module , is to actually NOT toss them to the garbage and being able to change the obvious part thats defective yourself

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

nuclear > have you kept the old ones , or just just toss everything to the yard ?

im not shure about the model numbers your tossing out, actually they're images you took on the net, if you still have them in your possession , and can actually read me the tag and give me the model number i would drop by your place and have a look at them if you are interested into that, but i would love to make an in depth serch on them and for that i need model # .

but if its all in the garbage forget i even mention it

definition of self servicable technology is flawd , esp. if you know about termodynamics , a force will always decay unless it is feed in the loop. if you choose to dumb down the loop as much it your choice , dont go crying that the dumpyards are filled because a view like yours is what makes them bigger the aware consumer will buy goods that will simplify not only his life but at the same time limit the energy wasted when will be the time to service it (half life) and when will be the time to trash it if thats ever to happen because of major *UNREPARABLE* component failiure, such as rust invading the whole medium making it completely unservicable without changing it all. in 90% of the case in america only one component is defective and thoses consumer monkeys are prepared to trash it all. ridiculous no wonder china's now an emerging force , they take all your garbage and sell it back to you without even building plants.
