 Coolness: 295660 | Ok here my trouble, I have a wireless router, I thought it was secure, had a big password and all, but it seems someone was able to get in and busted our dl limit.
I change the encryption and put in a bigger password. Is there anyway to prevent the cracking again? I mean I must have miss something if it was able to pass trough my first password???? |

and check your net interface once in a while to see who is connected on there... if you dont know one if the user connected just ban him by mac address. |

 Coolness: 686275 | WEP is pretty much leaving your router wide open, it'll take someone under 10 minutes (usually closer to 5) to crack a 128 bit WEP key.. You've left the house, your front door is locked, but there's a note on the door saying that the key is hidden on the property.. |

Also, like fre was saying you can ban MAC addies, so you basically check out your pc's, your girl's and your Ipod mac adress, and ban any other one in the connection history of your router (if list avail. on your router, not all keep a log). best of luck, but I'm pretty shure switchin' to WPA2 will help a lot in itself. |

 Coolness: 165485 | By the way banning the Mac address does nothing to me (and to your hacker). theres a tool to easily change the mac addy in linux. But yeah use WPA and i would even go as far as shutting down the WIFI when not in used !
ALSO if you use your NDS to go online youll be shit out of luck since NDS wont connect to WPA :( if so you could instead use the USB dongle nintendo is selling for that same purpose :D hope you resolve your issues! internet is expensive ! :( |
