Where the fuck is Maestro nowadays ? Does he still take the mic once in a while ?
Pretty much the entire soundtrack of GTA 4's The Classics radio station is wicked. There's Jeru up in there and the selection is by Premier himself. Hell, he's on the mic in the game.
I'm feeling skate 2 right now.. |

hmmm not sure what Maestro is up to. probably wishing it was 1989 again =)
damn I didnt know Premier had anything to do with GTA my friend booked Premier to host the DMC finals in Hamilton back in 2005.. he played a crazy oldskool hip hop set. aside from a little funk, the entire set was classic tunes he produced: Gangstarr, Jeru, KRS, Nas, Das Efx, etc... I was glad I got a chance to see him |

Let your backbone slide is pretty much his only good song, well that Conductin things track which I actually used to play a lot in my big beat sets back in 90s.
His later stuff was pretty crap, trying to be a gangsta and all that nonsense, I honestly wish he'd stayed on that fun playful b boy tip and stuck to making party records. If there's one Canadian hip hop band I've always wanted to see live its the Dream Warriors (only with songs from the first album though, later shit kindaof sucked). Those guys were solid as fuck on that first record, still one of my favorite hip hop albums of all time.
I'm feeling sunshine right now.. |

I'm really not interested in seeing him perform new stuff which, hate to say, will probably be pretty weak. that gangsta tune he did -Pushin Wigs back - was painful to listen to those 3 videos I posted are really the only ones worth checking, IMO |

"Wash Your face in my sink" Dream Warriors And who could forget the timeless "Check The OR", man the video is hilarious lol I was doing some volunteer work at this cultural festival in Ottawa back in 1992 and these guys come on. It was during the day and all kinds of people were there, families, kids, old people etc...The first thing Tom Green does (he was like 18 back then or something lol) is start rapping about some girl sucking his dick and how her mom's a slut, etc...I couldn't believe it!...They literally got kicked off the stage in under 10 minutes, the organizer was so pissed off, yelling at them & they just stood there laughing in corner lol...
