Yeh it's a Sanskrit kinda sounding name - throws ppl off. But they're still good ppl!

You can't blame em for jumping on the fluo raver bandwagon though, it's a reflection of the times
we live in. Drum'n'Bass is for the elite anyways, it's the least lucrative genre in the whole list
so it's no wonder crossovers are being done, so ppl can stuff some money in their pockets ffs...it's only natural to dabble in other styles, but they always stay true to what they love most. And I know for a fact Shamb' has had some sick D&B lineups, this years just doesn't scream at me for some reason ;)

Meh. I grew tired of indian sounding party names after seeing 4 parties in the same weekend all with such names a year ago. I thought there was some sort of India trade convention in town or something.
I'm feeling skate 2 right now..

That's like throwing a noisecore event named " Aum Shanti ".

Hahaha...thats true

At first I thought it was a festival for arabian flying carpets

I agree it's not lucrative, but I wouldn't call D&B "for the elite". there must be thousands of aspiring D&B DJs producers and MCs in the world today

HA! How many ppl have you seen dabble in drum'n'bass and make NOTHING of their careers because they're A- untalented or B- just complete posers, you have to be a special kinda person to make a real name for yourself in D&B. And ppl who know good Drum'n'Bass (which is rare imo, a lot of ppl fall for any old crap these days) well I consider them part of the elite. If y'all don't wanna be part of that, keep listening to your Aphrodite records, you're doing great.

I don't, I never will, infact the average top Drum'n'Bass producer will never play for 20,000 people...this isn't Celine Dion dumbass, hence the reason why I see Drum'n'Bass as being "elite"

We have something to call our own, but thx for coming out though...that funfur is doing wonders for you. And I'm referring to the Hardcore scene as a whole when I mention funfur. Now that's a special kind of elite.

Sorry, I like DnB...but wouldn't call it "elite" music. If there is any music that I'd associate with the elite, it's definitely IDM and experimental electronics of all kind.

Dnb and techno fans are definitely the snobbiest out of the all the genres

They still have that I'm cooler than thou attitude they inherited from the 90s

The coolest fans are definitely the breakz headz, always having a good time and super open minded

Oh man, dont get me started on the idm scene, fuckin hell

I quit that scene pretty fast when I realized it was full of sexually frustrated assholes who know way too much about music.
Update » Blisss wrote on Wed May 20, 2009 @ 6:50pm
And Host, the only snobs you'll encounter in the breaks scene are those dumbasses who think breakbeats are limited to nu skool breaks and are in still living in 2001 with their head up their asses lol...If you look around most of them are completely irrevelant today.

The "real" break headz are still the most open minded cats around
