This weekend at the mountain my CDJs stopped working. They power on, play cds and do everything they are supposed to do but no sound output comes out. Anyone have any ideas what the problem could be. It's doing this with BOTH my CDJs....

it works fine... just nothing coming out of the rca's... at all... i'd test the digital output but i have no mixer or device which inputs it...

output could be blown, or during the move the wire unhooked ,
listen i was choking out of the speaker move party , but call me up / pm we could come up with an arrangement.

yes the mixer is fine... just both cdjs died at the same time... but they turn on, play cds and everything... it's just nothing outputs... if they don't start working by Wednesday, i'll just bring them in for repair... not the end of the world...

Its wierd both cd players don't work at the same time,
If they turn on and the cd is spinning, then chances are its not your cd players but your mixer Make sure you lines are plugged into the proper line in the mixer (look in the back), make sure your switch on the mixer is flipped to the proper line And make sure you don't have any filters on, sometimes a filter can cut out the sound If you can't get them to work after that, try your cd players on another mixer, if they work, then its your mixer thats the problem

the mixer is fine... all the channels can play sound using a diskman... it's for sure the cdjs... even when you plug the earphones to the earphone output right on the cdj there is no sound output... but you can clearly see the cd is playing, the bars move around, and the pitch works also so... anyways it seems like a fluke problem...

there is only one amp board in some cdjs bliss, i agree most of the time only one line of the stk goes out, but this could also be they pullout the rca cables like idiot and now nuclear has to redo the rca connector's solders.
my gess ; its not that big of a repair , but if you really tried the cdjs on working input you just tested at the same amplitude , then you need to go inside.

Lol Host...true dat
Noah, its really wierd BOTH cd players stopped producing sound at once, but still work fine aside from that...its like having 2 turntables stop working at once Did you make sure the the rca wires are both going from red to red and white to white, when they're inversed it could be a problem

lol , inverted you would still hear the sound bliss. monural has been phased out in the 60s
if noah connect a portable cd player and hear the sound. then connects the cdj in the same place where he heard the sound from that portable source , then he will know for shure. try the cdj in you computer's sound card, youll know for shure. Update » cutterhead wrote on Tue May 5, 2009 @ 1:26am people in paries YANK the wires on blow, or yank it side to side until they can pull them out ; this normally destroy the output connector from the pcb inside : only need to resolder IF the pcb isnt cracked .
second ; there is about 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 ways an amp board (preamp for you)in there can snap Update » cutterhead wrote on Tue May 5, 2009 @ 1:38am in thoses cdj line , the amp ressemble to the STKs shown here above in that picture. sometimes only a line blows ( one layer burn , most common is overload coming from amp before, this is more common in amps racks, radio from aux , or anything you connect TO ) , in this amp there is room for 4 channels , right-1 , left-1, right-2 , left-2, sometimes 2 channels ; again right and left. what if the power on that board goes out , of if a screw is sitting on the pcb that feeds the power to this : result no sound on both input, but again my gess is that some idiot pulled the wires like it was a playtoy.

i was there and the only explanation is the fuses burned
because of letting them exposed to the sun for to long.

Sounds like a power surge fried your outputs.
People tend to not use proper surge protectors when doing outdoor events. This is KEY. Contact Pioneer about a repair if you're still under warranty.
