[ www.tsn.ca ] A group comprised of singer Celine Dion, Claridge Investments CEO Stephen Bronfman and Quebecor Media CEO Pierre Karl Peladeau is considering putting in a bid on the Montreal Canadiens, the Globe and Mail reported Thursday. According to the newspaper, George Gillett - the current owner of the team and the Bell Centre - is in the process of looking at a second round of bids for the organization. A group headed by former Canadiens player and general manager Serge Savard has also expressed interest. An investment banker with knowledge of the situation told the Globe and Mail that the Canadiens' financial data has been made available to potential buyers who made, "initial expressions of interest." Sources also told the newspaper, the biggest stumbling block for Dion, Bronfman and Peladeau would be reaching a partnership agreement between themselves prior to purchasing the team. "There is a group bid being discussed, and it's clear that Gillett is very willing to sell if the price is right," an unnamed investment banker told the Globe and Mail. Forbes magazine recently estimated the franchise's value at $335-million, third in the NHL behind the Toronto Maple Leafs and New York Rangers. The Canadiens finished eighth in the NHL's Eastern Conference in the regular season and are set to begin their first round playoff series with the Bruins in Boston on Thursday night. |

wouldn't that be sweet eh :P And of course she wouldn't sing every night, maybe once for the opening night..but I doubt she'll ever leave her 500,000$ catered box. |

 Coolness: 159445 | Celine Dion I'm not concerned about, it's Pierre-Karl Peladeau.
I'm sure an agreement hasn't been reached between each other because Peladeau can't settle for an equal share with everyone else in the deal. |

the skydome boxes I dont think they have a very good view though sitting on a leather couch eating free food and watching a game is pretty pimp |
