So i am a member another site as well and i voiced my opinion on vocals and house music and how i think that some r ok and alot are crap but i do appreciate them but i don't like them....I am getting alot of feeback: i am wrong and this and that...Ok opinions r being voiced i am ok with that...One chick wants me banned!!! IMO IP BAN she says because i voiced my opinion on house vocals and her panties got in a twist and wants me banned..WTF i am only voicing my opinion she says i have a lack of respect fort he human voice .....Well she went on and on saying that i get a buzz from vocals here and there cause i don't mind that shiver up my spin from my E buzz...I got pissed and replied .

" I don't do drugs anymore and your lack of respect assuming that for everyone on the dancfloor is! I don't like vocals i appreciate them but don't like them deal with it."

I am now waiting for a ban for voicing my opinion....That is why i like [ rave.ca ]

I also kept on saying that it all sounds like san fransisco vocal crap but that is my outrageous opinion...To get to everyone!
I'm feeling gohabsgo right now..

funny you mention this, misstress barbara's "effet karma" (relentless record)
one of my favorite track has vocal. thats as much as i can tolerate.

to much vocal destroy the soundscape, a little like trying to talk to your friend in a nightclub while the music's playing full out. one or the other, or a little...

^ this one too , notice the amount of vocal

her other track : " Do You Believe In Love At First Listen? "

doesnt have much , but is subtile enough to enjoye everything at once.

imo everything else with too much vocal, then turn into an other genre called electro.

i also love some track, that have undistingushable lyrics or forein languo, totally hypnotic, makes you hear more than how things are actually, new words allatime , new meaning etc.., sounds can act on words,
but in half way it acts on the subcounsious and are almost stuff of dreams and barbara more than anybody else made me realise this in music, i started developping this taste for audible hallucination . thou gwar exploit that a lot too.. but in a whole other way.

dammello , and some other track on relentless are consructed that way.

my take, enjoy

<3 B! im still looking for a wax of effet karma, then i have all pokemans

By me saying i don't like vocals is not like me saying i don't like the human voice! Stupidest thing i ever heard someone say...I say alot os stupid shit i admit it but to jump to that conclusion is well u know Stupid....

well , i used to go to raves, cause they werent vocals in track , stuff ended up more like josh wink's " dont laugh " , complete sensory exploration , no vocal in context. just fun and whoa

that was as close to vocal i could get,

it doesnt take much for vocals to become alienating , like thoses french bounce track, i wont drop
the lyrics cause the whole site will want to kill me for diging this up, and honestly i would
commit seppuku if i say it...

let me just say "encore une foi" was one time too many. XD commiting seppuku

Unkle In a State
And remixes of Sarah Mcglaglan i have a couple they r beautiful she has an angelic voice but i don't play them i keep them for me...I have others but can't remember them right now, but stuff like that live ya they r nice but i am not at a rave or afterhours to hear singing i am there to rip up the dancefloor with good heavy hard tracks....

hard to say what makes a good classic and a cheezeball other than , good or not.

im shure remixing

would lead somewhere because lyrics are thought out.

but remixing anything " MEGAMIX " would probably lead to disaster, (im staying vague , i dont want
to be stuck with a tracker in my head i dont want :)

sarah mix i know is a good one, people like it , not my tempo , but i dont want to pull my head out its socket when it plays , too much repetition can make ppl go crazy , and im scar'd by some commercial house that totally traumatised me.

arent the best moments when nothing needs to be said out loud ?

some animalistic, primal body language that gets out instead , the stuff before language got invented ?

sounds are such a bigger more elaborate language than true words when used properly.

be shure to pasta paste this to that panty twirled correspondance of yours XD tell her i say hey

I think that vocals can have a place in electronic music, but at the same time vocals in electronic music tends to mean that it's either; a remix of a mainstream song feeding off the popularity of the original to move units OR something designed to be catchy and more easily accesible for the mainstream.

The thing with most electronic music is that it's not really "songs" but more "tracks"; 99% of anything you're going to listen to, while it may have been done with feeling and inspiration, isn't a song in the same sense as something with a singer that's actually trying to paint a picture or tell a story, it's just designed to get people to go crazy on a dance-floor.

Some electronic music does sound good with vocals for sure, but generally it's stuff done to be more 'mainstream accesible', which I guess works well for house, as it's a lot more mainstream than a lot of other genres of electronic music..

But when you go listen to a lot of stuff that's primarily vocal-oriented in electronic music, even if it's not a remix of something cheezy and catchy, it tends to be fairly cheezy or catchy in a pop-music radio-hook kinda way.

one not worth metioning anymore mtlnight, i also mentioned that Mark Farina is probably good at that style of music and each dj puts their own magic touch to their own style and that what makes them great or bad to the person or persons listening or dancing to them... Does that make any sense?
