| Every dead body that is not exterminated becomes one of them. It gets up and kills. The people it kills get up and kill.
while were on the topic, Dawn of the Dead (and it's prequel, Night of the... and sequel, Day of the... ) are absolute gems. George A. Romero affirms his standing as an absolute genius, carving what will become the basis for thousands of subsequent gore/horror/zombie flics, though none will ever match his combination of ludicrous plot development with quasi-realistic, almost believable social commentary. Anchor Bay’s long heralded DAWN OF THE DEAD 3-Disc Special Edition DVD postponed till ’04!
[ Fangoria.Com ] reports today that the Special Edition 3-Disc set of George A. Romer’s DAWN OF THE DEAD Anchor Bay had promised for this fall has now been delayed until some time in 2004. The set, which is scheduled to include three versions of the film (the theatrical cut, the extended “director’s cut,” and the European-released Dario Argento cut) along with an undisclosed assortment of extras, will be North America’s first chance to own the film on DVD since Anchor Bay’s two previously releases went out-of-print several years ago.
Those releases now fetch hefty prices on Ebay, and will probably continue to do so once word of the Special Edition delay gets around, so you’d better hang onto your old VHS just a little longer.
(I live for horror, and zombies are my favorite) |
