THIS WEEEK

PANDEMIC (Ottawa - Rough n Rugged Ent.)

Miles has been rooted in the Ottawa bass scene for 8 years now. After hearing the early sounds of DMZ, Tempa, and other UK artists and labels in 2006, he decided to expand from his well known ghetto-tech style spinning as Phil-Atio and picked up the bass heavy music known as dubstep. He, along side bowzer & DZ, host 'Thank God It's Monday' radio show on [ www.streamizm.com. ] After linking up with Rough n' Rugged Entertainment, he now has a full time residency at Ottawa's only Exclusive Dubstep event: Steppin Up. His on point mixing and bangin' track selection is guaranteed to bring the roof down anytime/anywhere.

Tsunami (Ottawa - Rough n Rugged Ent.)

Getting into the Toronto Drum & Bass scene in 1998, had hooked Matt into this genre right from the start. First collecting UK Drum & Bass records then progressing into djing in 2001. In 1999 Matt was introduced to UK Garage from the local record store In Yer Ear Records in Hamilton. In Yer Ear Records with help from Jeremy Greenspan (Junior Boys) was able to bring Kode 9 down for an exclusive set. After that show Matt started to collect UK Garage and Speed Garage records. With residency's in Toronto and Hamilton, Matt was able to expose this sound to new listeners with overall great feedback. In the summer of 2004 Matt got the opportunity to play a UK Garage set at WEMF. In 2005 Matt moved to Ottawa Ont and got his first dj gig playing Ramming It at the Collection through Mel Bass. He later on met up with the promoters of Onaversal ( [ www.onaversal.com ] ). Given the opportunity for a monthly residency gave him the exposure he needed in Ottawa to progress this sound. Playing at Club MTL, Matt played everything from UK Garage, breaks, grime and dubstep. Eventually meeting up with Autonomic and Jas Nasty, they hosted an event in 2007 with Shackleton from the UK. Currently now has a residency at the Freehouse on Elgin street in Ottawa hosted by Rough N Rugged Entertainment. Matt has progressed his sounds into a Dubstep feel with a heavy 4/4 influence. As for the future, Matt is looking forward to 2009 and to expose his tastes to a larger audience.
