i'm in the camp that publicly even if it's ironic or sarcastic... you cannot take back an insult unless you are the target of that insult...
like saying dykes... being angry because one would define them self with their sexuality... saying that they like plastic penis instead of a real one attach to a man.. etc// all that sounded homophobic... but i'm sure that you are not a mean homo hater... i'm sure if one of those proud gay girl would apply for a job and you would be the boss... i'm sure you would be equal w/ their candidature... sexuality is one of the most important component in our life as humans. it's certainly defining who we are/ if you think that they talk too much about it just avoid them.. i don;t see the reason for a rant... it's like if someone would use insult or vulgar term because they don't like the fact i talk about the relation i have w/ my husband... or how i love man in general... maybe some peeps would think it's annoying... but i'm sure they wouldn't generalized and say that montreal girls are like that... etc..

gay people are nearly ALWAYS defined by their sexuality before anything else, whether they write it on their profile somewhere or not.

Lesbians in Canada, because marriage is legal here, often have that sense of being better than ppl, when the fact is they're no better than the bum begging for change on the side of the road. It's a false sense of entitlement and you look stupid thinking your sexuality makes you who you are...I can stick my dick in a fire hydrant and that wouldn't make me any better than a pedophile...what you do with your genitals is NOBODIES concern, got it? |

I think it is deserved entitlement because they are people who are brave enough to go against a society of (sometimes violent) homophobes. I don't think there is true equality yet, lots of bigots out there. People should be proud of who they are if they are different.
It is the people like you that they are up against.

people get beat up, harassed, and sometimes killed for being gay.. They don't get killed for being straight, since it is the status quo.
When I was in high school 10 years ago nobody would ever dare come out... they would get the shit beat out of them most likely. There was one kid who did after I left and he got beat up daily. People don't beat up a girl or guy for being interested in the opposite set.

people don't get killed in Canada that often for any reason, fortunately. In the USA it is different, but people here are still harassed. There was a recent death in the states.. this year I believe.

scott, I don't hit women, nor do I hate lesbians, nor am I a homophobe...infact I'm the exact opposite, seeing how you havent kept a girl in your life for more than a month, I think you should shut up. Calling me stereotypical, dude you're the stereotypical femenist that won't hear anyone's opinion on the subject. I'm allowed to feel annoyed with ppl like that, hence the resonse from other ppl on this board who agree with me, are they sexist and homophobes too? no they aren't, they just have an opinion and it happens to be the same as mine. |

yeah the guy said something homophobic, then tried to personally insult me because I disagreed.
Saying something homophobic doesn't make you a hater, it just means you are ignorant.
