I have many well worded and articulate thoughts in regards to this show, but I am going to be nice and not say anything at all.
Glad they are coming tho, I'll be there.

Piknic organisation finaly saw the light… We will have something else than Minimal house.
Even if i like minimal, this time gonna change and by - 20 °C, Breakbeat will help getting warm. Big Up to Cruz Control… |

I think there are dj's who are better fitting candidates for the openers. I mean, ppl who have actually supported Noisia instead of just booking them because it's a "safe bet" or the popular thing to do. First off you book a Drum'n'Bass/Breaks act but completely ignore the ppl who have supported it over the past 6 years, like producers who are actually signed and putting out Drum'n'Bass/Breaks similar to Noisia (yes montreal has signed producers who hardly get booked). And to the promoters, just because you have the idea and the money for it doesn't mean you should turn around and ignore an entire community of Dj's and producers that have been paying their dues. If they did their homework they'd have gotten in touch with some proper heads in our scene and got more deserving Dj's or acts to open.
I never heard of Cruz Control until 2007, there are ppl who have been booking D'n'B and running nights for the past 10 years, how do they not even get considered in this matter? Picnic seem to love jumping on the bandwagon, almost like that poser friend who always did something you we're doing cause it was "cool" or "hip". I think it's a huge slap in the face and am glad I haven't supported these picnic douchers at all these past years...but at the same time, I'm kind of glad they're paying the 5k to bring these guys down, hey, free lunch. :) |

Like I said here : [ www.facebook.com ]
I doubt Noisia will design a set meant to please the purists, the hardcore dnb heads, even though there will certainly be dnb. They were booked because they can do a little bit of everything ( house, electro, drum and bass ) and indeed, my intuition tells me that they will try to please everyone. What a great opportunity this could have been for some of our locals.
I'm feeling g.r.i.m.e.y. right now.. |
