So, there's stealing, buying, and what, kinda stealing? Borrowing without the person being aware?

Like the song says; there ain't no such thing as half-way crooks.

Let's try making a flowchart here, to determine how things work out..

Did you pay for the
software/music you -------no---->You have stolen
are using?

|
yes
|
|
Good for you!

I'm still not seeing where a "shade of grey" can fit into the chart; you either pay for something and get the full/proper version, or you don't and use the demo/trial.

You use the full version without paying? That's called STEALING.

Be it music, software, movies, comics, magazines, RPG rulebooks, video-games, E-books, ANYTHING! If it's not being given away for free (as in beer), then aquiring it by any means that circumvents paying for it is a crime; the only 'shades of grey' are the ones you make up to justify your use of pirated material.

Wether a person uses pirated software to produce music, pirated MP3s to DJ out, Scanned e-books to learn a skill, cracked games because they can't afford to buy it, a Cam/TS/R5 Screener to watch a movie that's in theaters, it's all exactly the same thing.

So get yourself off your high horse, because you are no better than any of the people I mentioned in the previous paragraph, no matter what your intentions are.
I'm feeling over 9000 right now..

you cant afford it , its not for you, as big of a baby as you act.

misstress barbara worked 3 jobs to afford her shit, i stopd smoking to buy myself rewards being vinyl.

now if i knew the artist acted like you, i would gave the money to myself, not only you dont seek alternatives, you dont do shit about changing the misconceptions around you and act pretentious about it.

btw i am not loosing money not downloading your track, if its anything you would get crtc points. so NO i wont download garbage that will cog my precious bandwith.

mabe you should read about electronic hacking ethics and get it right.

your doing it because you saw some one doing it

your million dollar happyness cant wait , and thats an actual disease

you really should take that head out off your ass because your doing it backwards, you get rewards
out of busting your ass , not busting ass and still doing it after, you want a cheat tru i hear?

People should use free/cheap software! Renoise cost 50$ to wave write and you can use it to compose all your want before that there are no restrictions.

I used fastracker way back when and buzz and made great music with it even before it even supported vsts. Venetian snares uses renoise!

geeze how hard is it to contribute...

learning linux or bsd software isnt that crazy, it just take respect and devotion,

to the eye of a coder , stealing software, is blanttant script kiddying just a lack of energy.

and you got ppl like deadfunk who wants to receive money on that account, way - 2 - go

scotty, i used also skale tracker, with vst support, entirely free.

i can't believe all the retardedness found in this thread. people arguing over who's stealing the most, other's justifying why not paying for something is better than, not paying for something.. did you guys read??

you play MP3's that you didn't buy = being a cheap, unsupportive bastard to MANY of your favorite artists.

you make and sell music with pirated software = you being a cheap and unsuportted bastard to 1 big company.

if i would be a jerk somewhere, i'd skip off buying software but i'd be a complete ass to play non-purchased music.

fuck, even when i didn't spin i'd buy my music but i doubt anyone bought Win XP !!!
I'm feeling open for suggestions right now..

playing a set with dvdj's is what ive been dreaming to do since i was a lil kid. basically before it existed. more for hip hop, cuz when you scratch in new tunes, you would actually see the guys face etc etc.

I actually saw sumone finally do it after all these years, and it was just as cool as i ever imagined.

this video is pretty shit, but i cant find one thats better, unfortunately, but this is what i saw, or something similar anyways, Peanut Butter Wolf!

i have 4 legaly bought licences of windows xp.

being a tech i can tell no one buys them because they all think like you,

i have found a community wich i participate and develop software, promote their stuff to go
around the we all deserve microsoft and welfare issue.

i found artists that think sharing their music is a good promotion for them, and still gets the old format out for thoses who would like to take home, plus theirs stuff rocks,.

im removing myself from attending to a particular party... i think ill continue to search knowledge in the galaxi and not expect everything to fall freely on my lap like a fat fuck on does nothing week but look for weeds.

AH GAWD FINALY , A MIND, YEA I GOT INTO THEM THE SECOND I SAW THEM IN MAG TOO , THE DIGITAL PROGRAMMABLE EFFECT MIXER THAT COMES WITH THIS LINE IS TO DIE FOR TOO , FADE ON IMAGE, KILL SWITCH THAT KILLS THE IMAGE WITH DELAY ETC... I GOT TO THINK ONE DAY, SHOULD I SAVE FOR A VINYL MASTERING STATION , OR A DVDJ SET, I DIDNT HAVE A WRITER BACK THEN BUT PICTURED THE POSSIBILITIES (WICH ARE ENDLESS, AND YOU GET TO VJ TOO) , BEING FROM THE DEMO SCENE AND DOING 3D THAT MADE ME TO TICK A LOT, I STILL SAVE AND LOOK FOR THE VINYL CUTTER THOU, I PROMISED MYSELF I WOULD GET ONE ONE DAY, AND IMPROOVE IT AND USE IT TO HELP LOCALS AND REMIX AND REMIX...

BUT MAN , PIONEER STUFF OUUUTCH!! I THINK ILL GET THEM TOO NEXT YEAR BEFORE THE LIGHTSCRIBE SECURITY BECOMES AN ISSUE IN THE NEXT RELEASE.
