If money was not an issue, why would one buy the CDJ1000 vs the CDJ400's... Is it that much better or...
I'm feeling nuclear right now..

from what I understand, the 400 doesn't reproduce accurately the platter as if you had a record.. The 1000 you can scratch with like it was a turntable.. The 400 has a 'scratch effect', not actual scratching.. 400s really are just 100/200s with a few more bells and whistles..

The 400 also works as a MIDI controller, dunno about the 1000, but I don't think it does..

The CDJ-800 imo is the best; no extra bells and whistles you don't need, just the loop function which never really gets touched.. and with the MK2 you can also have MP3 playback.
I'm feeling over 9000 right now..

i just bougth the 400s , another great feature is that they use any usb storage device for playback . can hook an external drive , usb flash drive , ipod , whatever usb with mp3 or wav and a few other formats. you can browse folders n such directly on the CDJ. takes about 1 second to load a track on the deck but can be a bit longer if it's from a huge drive but nothing really long.

for the looping theyre some cool functions on the deck , it can be pretty fun with techno or breaks , probably wont ever be touched for psytrance n such.

the platter response is pretty quick and the plate sits pretty high like this ___/"""""\___
the deck is a lot smaller than a 800

the usual functions are the same , the display is nice and the whole unit is sexy . i really love them.

they just got their price raised to something round 880cdn$ +tx each ... they were going for 767$+tx last thursday...Pioneer just raised their prices , porobably cuz of the falling economy in the US or just cuz this was en entry price since the deck went out around january 08 , pretty new

there are some nice reviews on youtube for the 400s

i tried the 800s earlier this week and the only diffrence i noticed when playing is the platter size who isn't relevant...

if you want Noah you could come to my place and try them some day

the vinyl mode is pretty usefull to scroll around the tracks to go to your first beat or anywhere to set your cue point.
the platter is the exact size of a CD

I'm feeling back in montreal!!!! right now..
