Personally, I can't see it happening, although it's not ridiculous to consider that Bush wants to remain in power indefinitely. Bills HSPD 20 and NSPD 21 loosely defines a national emergency as "any incident, regardless of location, that results in extraordinary levels of mass casualties, damage, OR DISRUPTION severely affecting the U.S. population, infrastructure, environment, economy, or government functions." With all the exaggerations, half-truths and flat out lies this administration has perpetuated, it's not ridiculous to fathom the current economic crises being declared a national emergency. I would be very surprised if this happened in the next two weeks. The media, however, is increasingly mentioning economic collapse, martial law training exercises, the possibility of civil unrest etc. Whether it's Bush or someone else, the national emergency card is there waiting to be played. No matter who is in power, they are susceptible to manipulation and egomaniacal behaviour - common themes throughout history. |

that theory have been contested many times.. usually people are not scared to say for whom they gonna vote. we are still in america! but yeah i'm scared to the max of the bradley effect.. iissssh Its called the max bradley effect, huh? Never knew that...I remember it came up in econometrics class a couple years ago, and it was definitely significant. I could probably look it up, but the data sample was really old, so its probably not that valid anymore.

No its the same. We looked at passed results of polling before polls vs actual voting results to see if various variables could explain discrepancies or something to that result. It was an 8:30 class, so I dont remember exactly, but it was something like that. Econometrics is really just applied statistics work for social sciences in general...i dunno why its called econometrics. Its just stats for non-controlled experiments....cuz in real life you can't control for variables, and its too morally repugnant to run many controlled experiments in social settings, so you make do using complied data.

The Great White Beast, George W Bush, whose name has a numerical value of 666, and whose initials correspond with the name of a machine in the "Schroedinger's Cat" triology by R.A.Wilson, (written in 1982 or 84 I believe) the GWB-666, is a much more likely figure for the Antichrist, and so is the new Pope for that matter. Silliness.
I'd like to believe it's possible things can finally make sense in that fucked up country down south and that the kind of subterfuge that happened before will be mostly avoided. Still, I get the feeling they'll rig the votes, the lameass Reps will go back into power, and martial law will be called due to mass rioting due either to the rigging or to actually giving Obama the presidency and then offing him after a few weeks of JFK level popularity.

hahaha! well i think you can say that you'll vote for mccain w/o passing for a racist.. they don't ask you why you are not voting for that candidate.. there is no racial component in the poll question.. that's why the bradley effect theory had been widely refuted..
