 Coolness: 89370 | I was editing my post and got the shaft. I just wanted to say that although I have experience working in the research department I was part of the production crew. We would manufacture large quantities of new promising active ingredients, when I say large I mean around 1kg hence the name kilo lab. During that time I learned a lot about chemistry and still do. In the post before last I clearly state that I am by no means an expert but work daily with people who are and I constantly barrage them with questions which they are happy to answer.
Also, Dainja... you back yourself up by using images off a fucking t-shirt retailer... That's quite the source you got there. Like I said, compare the 2 molecular structures and let me know if you find any similarities. |

With that said, those chemical structures are accurate anyways - care to prove them wrong? You might work for Pfizer but that doesn't mean you know anything about chemistry. Considering you admit that you have no formal training in chemistry, your uneducated opinion is pretty invalid. |

Care to show some creds yourself then? Geez guys, this pissing contest needs to stop. Regardless of similarities in the structure, MDMA and Meth are different. A single functional group placed somewhere else on a hydrocarbon would make the whole molecule interact differently with the human body, and these are two much more different molecules. My humble and roughly uneducated impression, based on organic chemistry classes taken 10 years ago. |

Amphetamine need to be done in a lab with expensive chemicals and you need somebody qualified to ma ke it and they cause no physical addiction. Meth can be done in your kitchen, chemicals can be found in your local grocery store at a really cheap price and you can be addicted to it. THink $$$...think like a pusher. And seriously can you really think sreet gangs can pay themself a lab! They have difficulty to get workable real 9mm! |

First off I dont work for Pfizer, I work for Wyeth Research. Second, you run your mouth with zero credentials, I for one have a certain experience working in this field. The chemical structures you posted ARE acurate I just found it funny that you back yourself with a t-shirt retailer as your source. Now we were debating if the test kit could trace it or not, apparently from Gamos' experience it did not seem to work. Now I am by no means saying that Meth and MDMA are one and the same far from it, just that they are harder to differenciate by using these little pill testing kits. What we may want to consider is the fact that a hell of a lot of shit that's sold on the streets or in parties as "MDMA" is a mishmash of meth and other garbage. It is a hell of a lot easier to synthesise Meth from ephedrine and/or pseudoephedrine than it is to synthesise MDMA from Safrole oil. I know both compounds are made using different process, it does not take away from the fact that they are very similar chemically speaking. Their effects on the human body, specifically on your nervous system is quite different, Meth's level of neurotoxicity being much higher and it's long term effects being much more devastating. But this is not what we were debating now is it? I find you very arrogant to say the least and think you should take it easy before you are so quick to judge. |
