Boondock Saints 2: All Saints Day

mehh, some OK scenes, but it's just such an obvious formula it's almost like I was watching the visual equivalent to Nickleback singles.
I'm feeling like a drama magnet right now..

yeah, this is like they figured "Everyone loved the first one, so lets just change the story a little, but totally re-make the first movie's characters and pacing!"

totally unoriginal.

Also, look out for Part 3 soon.

Good movie for Gamos... Or anyone... Was well filmed... Story very cheesy...

A drama centered around three high school seniors - an aspiring actress, her misfit best friend, and a loner - who become engaged in an intimate and complicated relationship.
I'm feeling nuclear right now..

Really James Cameron? 12 years and that's the best you could come up with? This is the script you've had that was your "space epic" to beat Star Wars? This is the story you've been sitting on since the 70s? Fucking Ferngully meets Pocahontas in space with the manditory side-order of "American war tactics are bad, m'kay?" that has to be put in every. single. movie. with any sort of army or soldiers in it since 2001?

Son, I am disappoint.

I'll take your word on that, I watched it downloaded and I found a lot of scenes (especially near the beginning) to be anoying as hell with how obviously CG the regular humans looked..

Up until it started focusing on the Navi, all the scenes of the cripple getting off the ship until then just looked like glorified cut-scenes from Starcraft..

I also really think they could have done a lot better on the CG for the Navi and the rest of the stuff in general.. I mean, Jurassic Park came out 16 years before and the CG was more realistic in that one movie than 99% of what's come since..

and, really, I watch the worst of the worst home-made, zero-budget zombie/horror movies.. I don't watch something to go "OOOooooo that's pretty!" (well, other than porn), I watch it because I want a story; something original at the least.. even if you're tackling a subject/genre that's been done thousands of times before, give it an original twist...

In this we've got the general plot from Ferngully.. we've got the scene of the guy riding the bat.. we've got the giant yellow super-bulldozer plowing through the forest, we've got a sacred giant tree.. and we've even got the scene straight out of Pocahontas where he's talking/praying to a weeping willow (only this time it looks more like psy-trance deco than an actual tree)

If I wanted to put the effort into it, I could take Pocahontas and Ferngully, chop out scenes, and lay it over the audio to Avatar and you wouldn't know the difference.. 3/4 of the movie is outright plagiarism!

Got ya.
Upon reflection, that movie was "okay". I mean scriptwise. It was a genre, granted. But One with pretty good playing and decent storyline.

That beeing said,

I think the experience is beyond the storyline and effects. It's the basic sheer immersion provided with awesome never before (in my case anyways) technology. I mean massive sound, total field of vision control. I think the movie basically gets props that should go to the technology itself.

At this point, we have proof an "ordinary" movie can make better than hundred's of better movie by just changing the way with wich it is delivered. In a sensory way.

Aint' it cool?

sul cul ben raide....
the coca cola case :
avec les coups d'états en amerique latine, les escadrons de la morts, les trafics d'organes ect ect ect c'est pas étonnant MAIS pour une fois ont est témoins d'actionnaires qui se sentent concernés pis l'affaire fait peur a la multinationale.
excellent travail

The problem with Avatar, much like the Quake/Doom series of games on the PC platform. They're not so much movies/games, as tech demos of OMG NEW SHININESS!!! While the script itself is safe hollywood material. The real win is the actually technology. They put actors/acting back into CG. That's I think the huge win.

But otherwise, the movie was ok...

dude, Quake 1 was fuckin' awesome! Simple graphics but great gameplay, and some of it managed to have really good atmosphere... Same with Doom! I still remember the first time I had a Pinky sneak up on me on my first time playing the game.. The story was pretty generic on both games, sure, but the gameplay was awesome!

Oh don't get me wrong, But they were tech demos by ID, to buy their engine... Carmack has stated quite a few of the ID games were just that. To show it off.

I've lost many a years to my FPS addiction :) We'll leave mmo's out for now tho. ^^
