i was browsing site looking for a drum machine that would be somewhat of a 808 roland clone ! i mean a simple sequencer and some drum sounds ! and i dont see anything that does that anymore on the market! its always a complete thing with a sampler sliders and everything COmplete music production center type of stuff! so yeah is there a gear that im missing that would kinda meet the requirements of the roland808 simple i dont even care if the drums sounds cheap or anything i just need something that plays drums automatically like that with a step sequencer ! any thoughts?

What about the old Electribe ER-1, that was just a drum machine.. They go for pretty cheap, and the Electribes are all really good gear.

phoscyon has a much more deeper, realistic sound that abl, i used abl for years, and scince i found phoscyon, abl is in the junkyard

any tips on learning to use that thing properly? I normally go by trial and error, but that's the long hard stupid way of doing it, cause I'm sure to miss critical aspects :\

well i use it to do background acidlines, so one you get your patern, play it in the c3 area, get the reso up, the env mod down, and play with cutoff, dont forget to make it trough the biggest, baddest, fattest distortion you have

i wouldn't say deeper. It sounds more like a 303 sure , but i think 303s kinda sound lame unless distorted to shit and The abl distors nicer which is why i prefer it.
