funny, i'd agree with both of you... it comes from some of that old eighties stuff in more ways than one... acts like david bowie, joy division, talking heads, eurythmics, pet shop boys, combined with early electrofunk, afrika bambaataa etc etc... they all used elements of what we now call electro... vintage gear is still the best for making electro... but it's stylized in a new way, combining all of these elements to make something that sounds fresh and new - at it's best... at it's worst, it's background music for fashionistas who'd rather stick half of columbia up their noses and stare at themselves in the mirror than really get into music... it all depends on who the DJ is really... | |
