Will blue-ray win the format wars over hd-dvd? The 360 has indie developpers doing games. Also, i cant beleive ppl still care for a rumble feature in controllers: 1) It hurts the wrists and hands. 2) It bring almost nothing to games. 3) It sucks up on battery life. ---------- In conclusion: Personnaly i'd buy the 360 because with XNA Studio i can build my own games and distribute them via the online marketplace. There are more games and they are currently better looking than those on PS3. Its also cheaper, meaning i could get more games or more controllers or a wii for about the same price as a ps3. But the ps3 being the better machine, it might be a better buy in the long run. But since we might start seeing games the exploit fully the machine in 3yrs, i'll wait 3 yrs and buy it for probably half the price it is now. Blue-ray is a non issue as players that will do both blue-ray and hd-dvd will be < 100$ in 1-2 years. So: Buy 360 now, use extra money on games, controllers or cream cheese, buy ps3 in a couple years. |

lots of game will be avaliable for both system, same thing happened with the ps1 and the n64, lots of game on the n64 because it was released before, but now, a couple years later, what do we all have a home? |

i used to not really like the wii till not to long ago. if you want something new that's the way to go other wise wait for the next ps4 and MS console. my 2 cents |

DrNyarlathotep: yes thats what I'm thinking right now, but right now means not ready yet for a console, was thinking in a month or so, and for the ps3 network everything seems to be release next years or in a couple of month. Makes me kinda scared of whats up with ps3 :S |

As for waiting for the PS4 or "MS Console", this is pointless. Let's wait for the PS39, I'm sure it'll have MUCH better graphics/gameplay, you know, in the year 2450. |

 Coolness: 686305 | Well, things aren't looking that great for the PS3 imo.. GTA4 will only have extra downloadable content on the 360.. Sure it's got blue-ray, but have you read up on it? They have to put multiple copies of common information on the disk (like, say, textures, modles, music, etc..) because it's got too much seek-time, and even then the loading is still longer than the 360, so yeah you've got 50 gigs of space to store game info, but really (example) for every 5 gigs of "new" content (one-time speech from an NPC, movie that plays once, things that don't happen often/more than once) you've got 5 gigs of "persistent' content that has to be cloned, because it'll take too long to seek back to the begining/middle of the disk to find textures and animations.
Yeah, the PS3 has free online play.. But no system like xbox live. You don't have a "universal" friends list, so you can't have a friend and look to see if they're online and see what they're playing and on what server to join them, you've got to put in all of your games one at a time if you want to find out who's online.. Also, as someone said before, lots of developers have said that the cell architecture is a lot harder to code for, and that the developer tools are a lot more expensive to purchase (game makers don't get these for free).. So their programers have to completely re-learn how the new CPUs handle processiong, graphics and sound.. Whereas the 360 is essentially just a custom-tuned PC with an x86 processor, so they already know how it works and how to best take advantage of what it can do.. As a result, a lot of companies that had sony-exclusive games are switching over the the 360 because they can't get the quality of game they want out of the PS3 without completely re-educating their design team on how to code. Resident Evil 5 is 360 exclusive, GTA4 will have downloadable content (new episodes/missions, skins, cars, etc) only on the 360.. Konami even said that if sony doesn't lower the price of the ps3 even more that Metal Gear 4 won't be exclusive to the PS3.. As for the current "price cut" on the 60gig PS3.. They're doing it just to liquidate the current stock. Why? A few reasons: the lower modle is getting phased out and an 80gig modle is getting put out. the "new" 60/80gig ps3s that are gonna be coming out aren't going to have PS2 chips for emulation of PS2 games to cut down on cost, it's all going to be handled by software, which sony has even said (can't remember where though) that it means LESS ps2 games will work on the ps3 than they do now. But that's not going to justify a price cut; once the "old" ps3 stock is sold out, they're putting the price back up to the regular price (699 U$) even though you're getting less hardware, because of how much money they're losing. |

gosh serioulsy it's fucking hard, but the more I see it the more I thend to go for 360 but anyway I think I'll wait for the new chip set. question: the 3 years warranty for the 360, this offer ends when? or is it final that ALL 360 are and will be 3 years warranty? |

La ps2 est malade, mais pour le moment, la ps3 a pas l'air de lever ben ben. Si ça devient plus populaire dans pas long, vas-y. Mais sinon, attends un peu, car mettons que cette console est un flop, tout les devs vont aller sur x360 et tu vas te retrouver avec une console (assez chère merci) sans jeux. Sauf FF13 mais bon. À moins que tu soies vraiment fan de cette série, acheter une console juste pour un jeu, c'est un peu chiant pour le budget ;) Pour le moment, je pense que tu peux toffer encore avec la ps2 ;) |
