The punks were out of line. I stayed for about three minutes.
Minute one: crazy whore on that picture screams at me to take off my hat.
Minute two: Three punks threaten me because i'm smoking a cigarette outside. This was not a joke, they were violently threatening me. These were unwarranted and unsolicitated threats.
Minute three: Decided to leave, out of fear of having HIV sprayed into my orbits... or just catching whatever disease they have stuck under their dirty nails. At that point, there was bottle breaking going on.

I actually attempted diplomacy. The response was «If you want to smoke on my sidewalk, you'll have to deal with us».

At that point decided that this person could keep his sidewalk and the dirt, while I could keep my education, my caviar and my greatness.

Well happy birthday noah late.
It was weird to go there becoz it made me remember the rave toby, eve and cathou threw about 4 years ago at the same location. Things have definatly changed alot.
The people were alot more aggressive. This girl was trying to start a fight so I decided to leave. It's too bad coz I didn't say hi to alot of people.
Anyways Noah it was ur night and I hope u enjoyed it.
(I personnally was craving the hot dogs from last year)

Happy Birthday Noah! Sincerely.

Sounds like a real shit fest. I guess if you want to save money, you should go right ahead and book at a venue where there are hypocrite straight-edge wannabe punks squatting.

AlxRed: "These ravers got a does of reality"? Who the fuck are you son? Since when have ravers and reality EVER been linked? I get enough reality every day (probably more than you do) and these parties are a way to get away from reality. Personally, I think Noah fucked up booking this venue. You know I love you bro and that I'm not going to make frivolous statements, but I've heard it was sketchy from too many people. I would have expected better.

I hope you had a happy birthday, cuz most people whose opinion I value, did not.

first of all, I was wearing a hat and nobody caused shit with me, they also told us not to stand outside, which is understandable (although one person outside shouldn't be a big deal). Threatening people is out of line of course, but I have a feeling that a lot of them are deathly afraid of cops, as there might be some people who have had bad experiences with them (cops really treat punks and street kids bad). When I am dressed in a leather jacket and army pants and the like, I have been harassed by cops and people in stores for no reason, and I am hardly a punk. There is a huge stigma against anyone who even remotely looks like that. Granted, it is probably the fault of the bad eggs who cause trouble and make it hard for everyone, but there is a stigma none-the-less.

From what I heard from noah, the people actually pay rent there, so it's not a real "squat", god knows how it's paid for though, but I think there are a lot of people "living" there (if you want to call it living).

I had a good time the hour I stayed, but there is no way I could have stayed any longer than that..

Clearly there is a severe class difference between most of us and the people who stay there, most of us have jobs or go to school (or both), and we are kind of spoiled with our apartments or parent's homes. I can attest to this causing problems, I have felt out of place before when I am at really fancy clubs or around rich people, it can be uncomfortable. The sad thing is that it is likely a lot of the people who hang out there probably have some kind of substance abuse problem (whether alcohol or drugs or both) so it's hard to deal with. People who live in the street or squat or live in some kind of run down place are probably really intimidated by a bunch of rich middle-class and upper-class people entering their space. I'm sure they are used to being walked by and ignored and looked down upon in the day-to-day world, so you can expect some animosity.

I openly admit to not being hardcore enough to live that kind of life, but I don't consider that a bad thing. I have a cousin who spent his life roaming around and living in the street, and it is not a good life to live at all. People who actually do that by choice and not by circumstance boggle my mind.
I'm feeling gangsta right now..

woot something smart posted here and not just bitching on punks :) As much as some ppl had problems at the party, its not a reason to generalize and call all punks filthy or wtv...a lot of them were really nice to me. But yeah it must suck for the hat thing, then again shit has happened at "normal" raves too...if any of that makes sens.
I'm feeling punk rock :) right now..
