This question's been asked hundreds of times in other message boards.

What do you think the future holds in terms of electronic music genres?

Personnally, i hope to see a rise in disco-core music and the eradication of progressive anything in the year to come.

Hmm I've heard alot of people saying Hardcore is making a come back, plus with all the releases these days it could be true! But then again Im being biased since I spin it ;)

Personaly I don't mind progressive stuff just as long as the beats get hard, but that is just me

And what about new wave ?
I'm sure everything is gonna be lounge and calm and relax so that we all get asleep so the evil government crew can abuse us 0.o'

Not sure about the last part , but I think the next popular music's gonna be relaxing ...

all the genres that are popular now will die and then come back in 15-20 years and be the cool 'retro' thing

i think bz is right.... the calm kind of d&b or like electro will be the new thing, you also have to take into consideration that as you move from city to city or country to country the music thats "in" might not be "in" somwhere else, but as a new kind of music comming in.... old stuff is new to some ppl, so its kind of hard to tell what might be comming.....

Trance is unfortunately the present and the future.

Every style is turning to trance:

Happy Hardcore is becoming trancecore
Nu Nrg is turning into Hard trance
Dance is becoming vocal trance
goa turns into psytrance

Its all a conspiracy I'm telling you

Hardcore is not really making a comeback... but it is changing a lot. The Dutch gabber scene is finally dying (enough newstyle!), and the French are at last getting the recognition they deserve for their excellent productions (industrial hardcore). Speedcore and terror have also come back from the dead this year.
As for the rest... I have no idea.
