Hey Nick, nice track. probably my favorite of the ones I just listened to on you profile. I like the echo you put on the vocals at times. I find the analog bassline is a little too loopy after a while, and I would probably like it more if it dropped in and out or changed up around the middle. Also, if you could bring the hihats or some of the other drum sounds more forward in the mix the beat would probably sound more punchy. I like the concept for the track, and I like the wierdness that comes in around the middle, but with all those layers it gets a little muddled, That would probably fix itself in mastering though. keep em coming dude |

neat track, i dont really know the genre well..but it would seen that the percussion samples might be missing a bit of weight and frequencies during some of the busier parts seem to be a little jingle jangle...im sure with a bit special attention it could be a stomper. try using a paz analyzer from the waves shell coupled with a hp/lp filter on each channel to ensure all frequencies are nice and seperate, it will make it all much crisper... there also seems to be a strange phasing/panning on the percussions that just wouldnt come across well on big sound I dont think..what sequencer do you use? -K |

nice work nic
i agree with daves comments regarding the bass line... if you kill it a little more it should command a little more respect when it comes back in... there is something weird with the drums me thinks though... sounds like you either ran em through a filter or were using really cheap drum samples? personaly i try not to fuck with my kicks to much... (with some exeptions of coarse) i'd rather pad them with a sub if i need em to sound fatter or use a new sample altogether than to have to start running them through a buncha shit to make it sound good |
