I was in halifax this summer on vacation, and when I turned on the radio I caught a show about synthesizers. I was completely blown back, they talked about how it was used in progressive rock and told stories about Deep Purple and stuff, and continued on the Time-line all the way to kraftwerk and played one of his songs, I think the Tour de France one or something. Then entire time I was listening to that I was thinking, "Why the fuck don't we have this in montreal."

you are god ::Psonyk::.
Oh and Marc+Sharon...I hate you.

I wish I was, Subflower. I'd grant your wish and conjure, oh just about 15 tons of sulfuric acid 50 meters above Q92 and let gravity work its magic.

But thank you for the compliment. :) Same gratitude extended to you Smearedblackink. If I can make you laugh and forget about putting a bullet to your head, I'm happy.

And Ufot, I agree about the CRTC living in 1986. The CRTC is immensily concerned about playing canadian content but last I looked around, there is a fucking shitload of massively talented canadian electronic music artists, enough to justify a 24/7 music channel...BUT despite the the Grammys and Junos having a Hip Hop category, they fail to acknowledge it's electronic music like Techno, Electro and Drum & Bass.

Wait to go Q92-loving CRTC.

I've generally disliked radio, not to mention tv and the mass media since I was 15, 16. I listen to it from time to time mainly to analyze the content and hear what they are promoting to the masses of humans.
I dislike being pushed into listening to it by circumstance. I mean if I am on the street and they're playing it or at the job, for example.
I resent hardly even volunteering myself to listen to it and then having a song stuck in my head, repeating itself. I figure the least I can do is understnad the nature of the song lyrics or the music itself. But it still sucks.
Like others have said, people,, often,listen to it to comfort themselves from actually listening to their selves, as a self-medication, to avoid the silence that appears too heavy to bare.

lolol well there is a station in montreal that has a show that plays all electronica and indie music. I forgot the damn name of the show and station...its been yrs since I listened to it ...AH BRAVE NEW WAVES is the name of the show..but I forgot the station...and on this station they have hip hop shows, jazz, etc. We have pretty good stations in montreal I think...just gotta know how to find them because they are so underground. I am just sick of old boring people that love Mix 96+Q-92 and refuse to change the station because its "reasonable for everyone". Every job I have had, has had people like this. It totally sucks. I KNOW that if we put on a Jazz station, or CHOM ppl would be happier. We wont feel like zombies anymore because we will hear variety. It does make a big difference.

True, you can ALWAYS find an internet radio station to your liking. Too bad at some workplaces they don't let you use too much bandwidth...

Listening to CDs shouldn't really slow down your computer... Unless your playing MP3 cds at which point it might slow it down a little bit. You must be using a decent computer there???
