| ..always book Gravity
Is there bylaws restricting where after hour events can be held ?
I'm new in Montreal so forgive my ignorance. |
|
Coolness: 201220
| basically, yes.
also, promoters are getting increasingly lazy. |
|
Coolness: 45240
| what kind of bylaw exits ? |
|
Coolness: 201220
| i don't know, fuck. look it up. |
|
Coolness: 45240
| about the lazyness , i think it is a provincial thing. You guys are fucking lazy. |

| the tradition in this city is once someone finds a decent venue, promoters will effectively "rape" the venue untill either the owner gives up throwing parties, or the public loses interest. The cycle keeps going on... |
|
Coolness: 93185
| that's not true theres alot of promoters that don't "rape" venues and strive to always have some new space to party i think that's kinda generalizing .
i love how you said rape though . . verry ill. |
|

| Yeah, it's a yearly cycle I think. Bingo Hall, Rainbow, now Gravity... WHAT WILL WE RAPE NEXT?! |
|
Coolness: 340355
| you forgot ecube. |
|
Coolness: 686280
| right, and 1619, too. |
|
Coolness: 300015
| 1919 williams! |
|
Coolness: 93185
| you people don't give promoters enought credit .
i was the first person to use that 1619 loft and level 4 was the first to use ecube and the original bingo hall was a dope venue just like the dems the breaks one and i dont think people really minded that large capasity partys were there cause i mean would you rather a church like back in 2000 ? not me. and the gravity is a great venue with better sound then you could ever get for a rave anyplace els . instead of bitching about the gravity you should look at it as the first afterhours venue in montreal that let s you throw raves there .. wich is pretty dope. |

| I think we all know where this is headed
what goes up must go down
that's gravity |
|
Coolness: 45240
| so the bylaw isn't really what is stopping promoters. Would you guys agree it has more to do with promoters sketchyness and lazyness than politics ? |
|
Coolness: 686280
| I think it's more to do with parties getting busted. Gravity has all the permits for everything and complies to all the rules for emergency exits and such from having been an after-hours. Anyone remember Organised Confusion? Shut down before the party began because the emergency exit light of the store next door was defective if I remember correctly.. No matter how "legit" your party is, all they need to do is send in a firemarshal who says the place is a fire hazard and your done for, weather or not you have proper permits. That's not gonna happen at Gravity. |

| Yea but people here dont like the idea of going to the same venue all the time.. AND seeing the same dj's all the time.
In toronto all the parties are held in the same what 8? venues and LOADS of people always go. Then again, they get awsome headliners. |
|
Coolness: 201915
| the same 8 venues.. that doesn't sound too bad |

| Hmm...
..."Gravity—which is taught to our children as a law—is founded on great gaps in understanding."
Duhh. The bible makes perfect sense.
"Traditional scientists admit that they cannot explain how gravitation is supposed to work," Carson said. "What the gravity-agenda scientists need to realize is that 'gravity waves' and 'gravitons' are just secular words for 'God can do whatever He wants.'"
...exactly!
