K, I'm gonan go ask my friend for a g-mail account.. pff gmail, jesus christ.. why coudln't they think up a cooler domain. uhh, what are you talking about? even if i wanted to, it would be impossible to unintall MSn messenger, do you realize that? Windows by default will replace any missing copy of Messenger if you delete it. I'm serious, i've done this in the past by the way. |

seriously...
what are you talking about? msn COMES with windows... you can't NOT have msn if you bought windows... the only way to not have msn is if you dont upgrade to the newer version when it tells you to... ive also tried to delete msn.. it gets replaced |

icq was dominant before msn came bundled with windows 98 (i believe it is)..
hell, who here remembers msn 1.0 ? no one, cause no one used it, cause it was crap and it took them till version 4.5 before anyone touched it. |

wtf are you talking about, MSN can be removed from windows.
Fucking noobs. Make yourself a little batch file: @echo off echo Removing Microsoft Messenger... rundll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %WinDir%\inf\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove echo Disabling it from running in the future... echo REGEDIT4>%temp%\nomsngr.reg echo [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Messenger\Client]>>%temp%\nomsngr.reg echo "PreventRun"=dword:00000001>>%temp%\nomsngr.reg echo "PreventAutoRun"=dword:00000001>>%temp%\nomsngr.reg echo "PreventAutoUpdate"=dword:00000001>>%temp%\nomsngr.reg echo "PreventBackgroundDownload"=dword:00000001>>%temp%\nomsngr.reg echo "Disabled"=dword:00000001>>%temp%\nomsngr.reg regedit /s %temp%\nomsngr.reg Voila, no more of the old MSN 4.5. Now just uninstall messanger and there's no MSN on windows (though, now you can't use the remote assistance feature, and it'll ask you to download the 4.5 everytime you run windows updates, but all you gotta do is custom updates and not chose messanger) |

so all i need to do is open up reg edit, fuck around with the registry and it'll never bug mee again?
I'm going to go give my grandmother these steps to follow so she can get rid of it too. Really though, i've seen easier unstall processes for spyware that doesn't want you to uninstall.. :| |

Uhmm, copy/paste into a *.bat file, no need to go edit the registry manualy. Learn to read. |

Yeah, I guess your grandmother would be too fucking stupid to understand the words "Here grandma, doubleclick this file called "UninstallMSN.bat" that I'm sending you. |

Who said anything about editing registry?
RUN A BATCH FILE, it does it for you. *I* downloaded this off a website like 3 years ago when I was using Trillian and MSN kept running when I'd run outlook and fuck up my list. |

I must be blind, cause these are registry keys and the first command is: "REGEDIT4" :|
could it be, that your bat file is infact editing the registry? not only that, but editing registry values where you have no idea what they do? Fucking around with the registry is retarded, since almost every problem you will ever encounter on a windows computer is going to be related to a problem with the registry. echo REGEDIT4>%temp%\nomsngr.reg echo [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Messenger\Client]>>%temp%\nomsngr.reg echo "PreventRun"=dword:00000001>>%temp%\nomsngr.reg echo "PreventAutoRun"=dword:00000001>>%temp%\nomsngr.reg echo "PreventAutoUpdate"=dword:00000001>>%temp%\nomsngr.reg echo "PreventBackgroundDownload"=dword:00000001>>%temp%\nomsngr.reg echo "Disabled"=dword:00000001>>%temp%\nomsngr.reg regedit /s %temp%\nomsngr.reg |
