The Pope considered being buried in his native Poland, but finally decided to leave the decision up to the College of Cardinals, the Vatican said as it made the document public.
The queue of mourners stretched back nearly 2km (1.2 miles). Enlarge Image The release comes as a huge security operation is under way, in preparation of Friday's funeral. The event will be attended by political and religious leaders from around the world. Among those attending will be US President George W Bush, UK Prime Minister Tony Blair, French President Jacques Chirac and Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, who leads the world's largest Catholic country. Also attending will be the President of Iran, Mohammad Khatami, and Palestinian Prime Minister Ahmed Qurei - both of them Muslims. A strict no-fly zone is in place and the Italian army and thousands of extra police are out in force on the streets. Rome's authorities say the already packed city cannot cope with any more pilgrims, and the queue to see the Pope's body is now closed to newcomers. Mr Bush and two of his predecessors, George Bush Senior and Bill Clinton, have already paid their respects at St Peter's Basilica, where the Pope's body is lying in state. They were allowed past the estimated one million people waiting to enter the basilica as the queues were closed to further mourners. |

Aaaaah yes, how examplary. In true Christian behavior, let's shoot and kill any unwanted bastards who edges too close for comfort. Let's NOT escort them away from the site, oh no no. No time for this, mourning is too time consuming. No time to discuss. LOL But hey, terrorists are not THAT stupid. It's one thing to attack ONE country you detest and deal with that but it's another to kill 2 million christians belonging to 45 different countries and having all of them declare war at you simultaneously. Paranoid disillusioned one-man C4 plastic time bombs on the other hand... |

Seriously, all it takes is a couple of suicide bombers in the crowd. I'm surprised that it hasn't happened yet. |

Not sheeps waiting in a line to see an old man who had retarted ideas for the society in general and who was even affraid of the women, differences & other ideas. Man, my respect goes somewhere else. |
