Everyone respects an artist who shows true dedication to his craft. Psidream, a.k.a. Jeff Malcolm, is one such individual. A true drum & bass aficionado, Psidream has immersed himself in the genre, and through tireless effort is fast emerging as prolific producer. A producer first and foremost, Psidream began creating tracks before he even took to DJ'ing. With a background consisting of eight years of training in both classical and jazz piano, he's well schooled in the nature of music as fine art. This fact is evident in both his track selection during mix sets and his talent for constructing his own tunes. Defining Psidream's style isn't exactly easy. Like any worthwhile producer, he hasn't limited himself to one particular sound; his broad spectrum of releases range from airy dreamscapes to menacing tracks exuding psychic malevolence. What listeners can count on is his love of drum & bass and attention to detail making each production rock solid. Psidream's music has been supported by some of the world's top drum & bass DJ's, including Dieselboy, Concord Dawn, Cause 4 Concern, A-Sides, Aquasky, DJ Friction, Gridlok, Hive, Pendulum, Stakka & Skynet, and Technical Itch. Forthcoming highlights include "Deepfreeze", a collaboration with Mechwarrior that is forthcoming on the next DSCI4 LP, a 12" on Skynet's nVision imprint, and releases for Habit Recordings, Evol Intent, and many others. Two Psidream tracks were also licensed to DJ Dara's "Breakbeat Science: Exercise 01" CD and other material appeared on the "Brain Damage" CD by Abstract & Tangent and "Thought Process 01", a collaborative CD project between labels Covert Operations and Warm Communications. Need more? Check out [ www.psidream.com ] or hear Psidream & Mechwarrior, live in the mix, on Overload Radio (every Wednesday from 7-10pm PST on [ www.dnbradio.com ] 3$ before Midnight. 6$ ONLY!! After. The legendary Blue Dog 3958 St- Laurent / Corner Duluth. For more info or Guestlist: Stabba@mtldnb.com (514) 848-7006 Respect. |
