1.Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return.
Scroll down and look for the following entries: network.http.pipelining network.http.proxy.pipelining network.http.pipelining.maxrequests Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading. 2. Alter the entries as follows: Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true" Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true" Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once. 3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives. 4. Just kill the window and reload (it's oddly similar to the Windows Registry in that you don't save changes). |

actually, many servers will ban you for hammering them if you reload too fast with max requests set to 30.. |

This would be true if you were, say, using wget to recursively web-suck the entire site or something, but normal browser usage will not even be noticed (even with persistant tunnelling and multiple connections). |

http pipelining is not the same as a client request.
With http pipelining, in a single request, you ask for more than a thing, instead of using a connection per request. but not all web servers support http pipelining. Sure apache 2.0 and 1.3 support it, but some old weird commercial web servers don't. |

my guess is that firefox will be the norm by the end of this summer. hopefully explorer will get phased out faster than netscape. ugh.
btw, does anyone know how to make firefox my default for when i open net links from msn? |

I don't think you can do that cause it's MSN just like you cant uninstall Explorer when using Windows as your OS. |
