I think we should all stop worrying about what other people do to enjoy the party. I agree thought that things that take space like poi shouldn't be done in crowded parties and definately not in the middle of the dancefloor. |

Poi is a Maori word for "ball"
Poi have been invented in New Zealand. Before they made poi using a ball of fabric, and they attached it to a cord and they danced with it. It's still part of the Maori traditions. And.. Well... I love poi! :D It's amazing the effects you can make with it! Ok you must not spin in a big crowd, you can kill people, but in the corners.. ;) It brings more coordination too :) Must learn new tricks yah! ;) I remember at Starlight 2 there was a corner with all people spinning. Was great! |

But in the corners, nobody see you...
You must be in a higher place, like the stage |

By the way, for those who are just whining about glowsticks and whistles, I just want to remember that this is a RAVERS message board.
Thank you. |

no, not really
I mean I do poi because I love the feeling I get when I do it. Like you hear the glowiez passing inches above your head, it goes "whoosh whoosh whoosh" fun thing ;) Also well I love lights and colours... With poi you can make circles with light! You can play with light!!!! Isn't it fun? Tk je trippe à rien... ;) But of course it's fun to watch a skilled person doing poi :) Lights! Photons! WOOWIIEE! |

I'm sure it feels cool to swing glowsticks on a cord.
How can you hear the "whoosh whooshing"? Heh, usually the music is playing too loud... |
