Moderate Drug Use?

When it comes to alcohol, society clearly distinguishes between moderate levels of consumption and abuse....in other words, everyone recognises that drinking 2 beers is totally different than drinking 10. I find it interesting, however, that society rarely sees this distinction with regards to drug use: either you do a particular drug, in which case your gonna end up addicted/overdosed, or you don't. So I'm wondering what you all think about this: is it possible to use drugs over a long period of time in moderation, with only minor health risks involved, or does any use of a drug inevitably lead to higher and higher dosage? Or is the answer different for different drugs? |

moderation is key
also most people use drugs for recreation rather then cuz they are addicted and doing drugs once and awhile is better for your body then being an alcoholic..so what if alcohol is legal |

i just hate it when people use drugs when feeling self pity because then shit can get out of hand. recreational safe use is key. |

well the answer (in my opinion) is different for each drug. Also, when drugs are used as an escape from reality, to muddle your thoughts into forgetting your problems, then they shouldn't be used at all. (the same goes for alcohol, just because its legal doesnt make it right) |

i know alot of people who can control their addictions and use drugs "responsibly"...
and all the power to them. personally, i know that i have an incredibly addictive personality. when i find something that i like... i like and do it alot. so i know that i have to keep my usage to a minimum and space it out over long periods. because the more i use, the closer i get to slipping back into that mentality. as for "responsible herion users"... its impressive that they have the will power to stop such a destructive force from engulfing them. but they are still playing a very dangerous game. and though they may not be "addicted" to the point where they value the immediate high over their life/future... they are still addicted. and are still playing with fire. some drugs are all fun and games. but others(coke, crystal, heroin, ice, and crack) are just dangerous, expensive and terrible for you, even in moderate useage. and the risk factor for getting hooked is dangerously high. alot of people dont realise how dangerous alot of chems are. and how terrible they are for you body, mind and soul. (I use the term soul, simply for the fact that all people recognize the word... i mean it more in the terms of your energy or spirit, then the classical term "soul"... when drugs make themselves more valueable to you then morality, your friends, your family and even yourself... then they have corrupted your "soul") |

i think that if ppl r using drugs they should take drugs for what they are and consider the risks seriously, and dont take them to escape reality because liek megan said things can get out of hand. and moderation is the key, specially if u dont wanan become crazy addict sitting on a corner somewhere looking for ur next hit....and well yieah thats just my opinion
hihihi **Hugs and kisses** |

drugs are good at certain times but not on a regular basis. other than using drugs as an escape from reality, the worst way to use drugs is as an excuse for doing something stupid. everyone is responsible for their own actions and it is their own fault if they do something they regret. they have to live with the consequences even if they dont want to. |
