| mozilla isn't perfect, no browser is perfect.....opera is also far from perfect. I test software for a living, there is no software without bugs. |
|
Coolness: 340380
| except windows xp. it's bugless. |

| opera is a good browser, but I like mozilla more because it's free and open source |

| noah, i do make better software everyday. the software we make here is used in hosptials across north america. if it breaks, people die. so yeah, I am a little bit critical about shitty operating systems like Windows XP. |

| your dealing with only hospita stuff... imagine making an operating system which hundreds of millions of different people use... unlike apple which is apple and all programs made by apple in one style, a pc can be used for just about anything in many more ways then a hospital system... |
|

| uhh, unix is used by millions as well. |

| noah - most hospitals run a combination of windows 2k and xp. we develop for both of these platforms, and additionally, we have to develop to interface withmany proprietary software systems used in hospital monitoring and on top of that, all the associated hardware that interfaces with our and other people's software. So i know the limitations of xp and win2k pretty well, and after spending too many years breaking both, i have to say that XP is a terrible OS. Honestly, it just isn't robust, especially across a network.
Also, when you say "only dealing with hospital stuff" - you make it sound like that makes it somehow easier. Hospital stuff is much much much more complciated than commercial software, and unlike commercial software it CANNOT fail even once. THe specifications I write have to pass CE, 3 different ISO codes, Health Canada and the FDA before they are accepted for development....We even have ISO and FDA inspectors show up randomly to audit our records adn software specs and code.....It's really a different world of quality :S |
