there crazy. Hardly any talking usual just a crazy storyline portrayed through images. The photography on some of them beat modern movies. Their cracked, you should rent a couple like takima or something and the seven samurai. The latter isnt a art film but its still a kick ass japenese old school black and white. |

word
is it like 'la jette' or whatever? that french narrated still-picture movie that 12 monkeys was based on a bunch of sequenced pictures right? |

no its just actual filming, they have crazy sets and plots to make it look and feel its best. There aren't pictures just lots of close ups and great acting without talking. Most are based on samurai's too. And samurais are always kick ass |

honestly im sort of worried about any asian country being a leading world power
they can't even decide if they want to be conservative or keep up with the times as far as taboos and stuff |

yo trey! did you peep the video?!
the moves are legit man... obviously a few are acrobatics but everything is fucken legit!!! |

yea.. look like it's a good movie.
about the moves, they are legit, very ill. jumping knee kick. jumping smash elbow. the front kick (teeps)to the head is nasty!! i prefer to use it to push the opponent away or hit the solar plexus. The way i see it, there are 3 version of Muay Thai (or any martial arts); the cinematic, the sport, and the street. The cinema kind use the art basic element but they have to make it flashy. So they have to add acrobatics stuff. And they accentuated like almost every move. The Muay Thai sport is all about stringing combos and counters. You rarely see hit combos in movies. I.e. jab, cross, hook, uppercut, left knee, push then finish with right roundhouse kick. Then again, when u are in the ring.. you tend to forget the combos cuz you're rushing. Street Muay Thai is just brutal. Unconventional. This visiting "teacher" showed us a few tricks. While facing your opponent, you can break his neck in 3 moves. i was like holy shit!! |

i've read an article on street muay thai
alot of dirty moves and takedowns there's also more old school muay thai where the stance is super low i like the clip where the guys are exchanging a bunch of short teeps to the chest no stutter steps or fake into flying cross in those clips |

yo i'm jsut catching up on this thread but i just want to geek out with y'all to Zatoichi. ilove the blind swordsman. yeah so i hear there is a new movie in the works. Every Weekend one of the networks plays all these japanese movies. Last week I caught abit of somethign like 'the seven shogun' classic. I was raised with constant kung-fu movies playing. the snake vs the monkey. etc. etc. when i met my cantonese friend phil who has countless VCDs from hong kong I was enamoured. |
