nah G they got lots of different styles. Vex'd is doing pretty awesome breaks/grime type stuff
they have dubstep artists like Pinch, DJ Distance....have you heard "Quaali" by Pinch? might be spelled differently... they got Ceephax now, not sure what that sounds like but he usually does crazy acid. They also got Duran Duran Duran now doing some like, booty gabber. pretty sweet. [ www2.planet-mu.com ] you can heard samples of everything... |

I only like the old Mike Paradinas stuff off that label. Rest is quite unoriginal I must say

none of it is the least bit original. VSnares isn't original. Tipsy, he's original. |

Pinch has some sick grime/dubstep
same for Ceephax in the acid department. Mu is just straight out top quality in all underground genres it seems. I heard about these ppl before and didn'T link them to Mu in particular. shit. That's an eye opener.

Yeah...they've only been around for 10 years....the first release ziq001 by Jega is a killer drum and bass 12".

Jega's alright, but I always found he was kindof biting Squarepusher,
Check out the Planet Mu All Stars series, They're pretty funny...mainly covers of rock tracks done electro or breakbeat stylez... |

I think Jega is pretty infamous for biting more than just Squarepusher...
at any rate, back to the original question... seriously, check out: Bizzy B, Breakage, Exile vs. John B... if you're looking for something resembling straight drum'n'bass... Pinch, Hawerchuck, Vex'd, Distance, Mk1... if you want to hear their dubstep/breakbeat sounds... there's been a lot of activity on the label lately... Loefah and Skream did remixes for Punisher (the last Pinch single)... |

i don't think jega bites squarepusher at all! his beats are way more electro influenced in sound, rather than cut up breaks. the early stuff anyways.
people have a tendency to call anything with really cut up beats "like squarepusher"...when really there are tons of dudes that have been doing that style for years. galaksy have you listened to any of these cds at your work? what you got? |
